Some of these are pretty cute, in a creepy-cute way. Some are just unsettling. My favorite Pokemon, Kadabra, is terribly boring when peeled though. I’m disappointed in my dude!
I’ll continue plugging away at Hades, probably. I figure if I play a little bit every week I’ll hopefully be able to make it all the way through the story sometime before the end of the decade.
That’s a fair point, I forgot you can do that in the 3DS version. Then I again wish there was a perfect combination of the two versions; that’s what I’d like to see.
I agree that the QoL changes make OoT a better game on the 3DS technically, but I think some of the atmosphere is different in the remaster that weakens the experience, so if I had a genie I’d definitely wish for some perfect combination of the two versions available on Switch. The 3DS Majora’s Mask is a lot more…
My only problem with Minish Cap was that it was very easy, and then suddenly had a very tough final boss. I don’t mind easy, and I don’t mind hard, but I would prefer a difficulty curve to that sudden spike at the end!
Ooh I have to disagree actually. I have recently embarked on an endeavor to play and beat all the Zelda games, most of them for the first time, and for me Minish Cap would definitely be in the top half, at least.
Oh heck yes! I recently bought a Wii U just to play Minish Cap for the first time, and it was honestly worth it. I was expecting very little, but I found it to be quite a charming game. A hell of a lot more fun than either of the DS Zelda games... bloody touch controls.
I could not agree more. No matter what this guy says, he knew what he was doing.
I mean, I feel like both of these are pretty crummy, and I have a lot of sympathy for people on both sides, hah. Exclusivity sucks a lot except for those who are lucky enough to be able to afford (not to mention find) multiple consoles.
I am not very good at Hades (70 or so escape attempts and only two successes), but I am enjoying the hell out of it. And one of my favorite parts of any Hades run is getting to Theseus. He is honestly one of my favorite characters, and everything that’s great about him would be ruined if he were the protagonist. Good…
When I asked if it was okay, I didn’t so much mean “Do I have the permission of the Kotaku commentariat to like this thing,” but rather, “has the culture at large decided this thing is bad now?” I’m going to go right on ahead liking what I like, after all.
Well, from what I can tell it’s mostly the same backlash that happens whenever anything becomes super popular. But also, Hamilton’s whole relationship with the country’s origin and with race is... complicated. It’s a very safe story. That said, I saw it in 2016 and I totally recommend it, it’s a great show.
Oh no, what did Lin do? And yeah, that’s how I feel about it. I was in line to see it back in 2016 and I heard someone in line behind me say they had heard it was “95% true to history.” The history major in me died a little, to hear that.
I was thinking that, too! They did a really good job with the likenesses of the villagers, but hers in particular was spot on.
I... also don’t like centrist liberals, and I know the musical certainly caters to a very liberal type, but I’m not sure exactly what Democrat hypocrisy in relation to elections has to do with Hamilton.
That’s sort of how I feel about it. I certainly do not admire the historical figures entirely, not even the ones who are portrayed well in the musical. But it’s still a damn fine musical! Very entertaining bit of mythmaking--sure, it’s ultimately very safe and liberal (whether that is good or bad is up to the…
Is it still okay to like Hamilton, or is the backlash fully entrenched? I still really like Hamilton. Either way, this is very cool! Seeing things like this makes me want to play Animal Crossing, before I realize I have not a tenth of the talent required to be this cool.
I like Sapienza a lot, I really do, but I admit that it’s far from my favorite and I’m always surprised to see just how much other people enjoy it.
I can’t explain why, but I find Isle of Sgail just a little bit tiresome. I do enjoy it, there’s a lot to do and discover and the atmosphere is great, as you say. But for some reason it’s not one I go back to a lot after hitting level 20 mastery in it.
