Awesome stuff. I'd say Venetian Snares, Aphex, and Clark are probably some of the most important composers we have in this generation (Hell, let's toss Johnny Greenwood tangentially into that pile). Now if RJD would just release some more freaking music!

My wife is a middle school music teacher, and she occasionally tries to stretch her students little ears with contemporary composers, so she played Aphex's Flim for them, and bless their little hearts they called it dubstep. I imagine their little heads would explode if she played some proper dub or ragga for them.

Agreed, SAW2 is a seminal work. If you ever wanna blow your own mind listen to the SAWs and then some of Raymond Scott's electronic music experiments from the 40s and 50s. It's kind of astonishing how strongly Scott's stuff seems to have influenced a lot of the IDM genre.

In a lot of ways Sony is and has always been kind of aloofly out of touch with a lot of their userbase (Specifically any part of their userbase who doesn't live in an area as densely populated as Japan), but they have produced some incredible commercials. I agree in principle, but it seems like hating on people for the tools they use is a little crappy. Why not provide a few links on frame composition and name check some photographers that are worth taking a look at so we can learn something about not producing crap?

That's a totally crappy situation but it's more a my-computer-doesn't-work-under-a-deadline issue than an Apple issue, or, in other words, as far as having a broken computer on a tight time table Apple's tech support is a significantly better prospect than pretty much any other pc dealer.
