I won't disagree with your first statements. Mercedes aside, the other certainly are niche markets.
Then why are so many manufacturers heading in that direction? Cadillac included? For reference what car are you using to compare in regards to engine noise?
Nope.

Thanks for the article! I've been thinking about dropping coin on a triple monitor setup. HOWEVER, three 1440 monitors (or 1600) or one large 4K monitor? I'm quite torn between the options, however I do realize that both will require a substantial graphics upgrade from my GTX 670.
Proper engineering? I'm still struggling at how you think they are cutting corners here. They admitted that they wanted more motor (not exhaust) feedback in the cabin, but yet couldn't achieve that given the constraints given, whether be the inclusion of charcoal filters in the intake for emissions or making a car…
Have you heard it in person? What BS lies are they spewing?
Yes everyone hates active sound. Before you crucify BMW for it, remember that other manufacturers do the same thing, think Cadillac CTS.

Double post.
You really don't notice it. Luckily the M4 is decently loud when the exhaust valve opens up. Yea, I poo-poo'ed it for a while, but I don't mind it now. And yes, the active sound can be turned off with coding or a simple unplug of the processing unit in the trunk.
Ya never know. Doubt the Mobo manufacturers expected so much power draw on a single 3.0 port. At least you were able to capture the minidump info.
I had the Corsair K95 RGB, and I started getting BSODs when pushing Far Cry 4. I suspect that the addition of the additional power draw from the keyboard may have been just too much. For the Mobo and power supply. Since removing the backlit keyboard, I haven't had blue screen since.
By chance, do you have an LED backlit keyboard?
Verdict is: Acceptable.
