The act of labeling people, or groups of people, has several downsides. It might seem like innocent shorthand, or a clever way of retaliating for past injustices, but I see people using the ‘Karen’ label as a way of dismissing others based on who they are, because that’s easier than having a civil dialogue.
Karen is a behavior, it’s not specific to white women, it’s not even specific to women anymore. Men get called Karen now too.
