It cuts off an overland shipping route from West Africa to the Red Sea

With Europe and the USA being the biggest consumers of chocolate how would Red Sea shipping interruptions really impact chocolate prices?

I know stainless typically is non-ferrous

Former talk show host Ellen Degeneres celebrated her 66th birthday with a burn-away cake, the top of which read “Happy Birthday” before slowly burning away to reveal “Ellen” printed underneath in decorative lettering

“No room for error on the backend” because there are already so many errors on the front end 🤣

I’ve really tried hard not to think much about how the food at Domino’s is made, but this article and the (very correct) mention of the pasta always being overcooked has me wondering how it actually comes to be cooked. Are there any past or present Dominoans who can enlighten us? I’ve never seen a pot of boiling water

Papa Murphy’s is a national brand. Round Table may not be everywhere, but considering how many articles we get to read about Culvers, Wegmans, Waffle House, Buc-ees, etc. you can put up with a little unfamiliarity.

I really thought the poppy seeds would show up in the dressing being that poppy dressing is a thing (though I still have no idea what its distinct taste is). Not making hot dog bun croutons is an obvious whiff (depending on your climate it’s not that hard to just leave them out for not that long and they’ll naturally

My takeaway is that I wish potato chips came in boxes again/more often. The rigid packaging is one of the best things Pringles have going for them (of which I have two cans in my pantry currently).

Are there any Alabamans who can weigh in on the candy necklace thing? There’s nothing Valentines related about the candy necklaces CandyStore.com sells so I’m wondering if the popularity has more to do with the usual proximity of Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras. They do of course celebrate Mardi Gras in Alabama too so

Caesar salad: Once relegated to steakhouses, restaurants of all stripes and cuisines are adapting the caesar salad to their own menus, starting with its creamy, flavorful fundamentals and adding unique flourishes and substitutions as they see fit

The debate rages on among cup loyalists, people who have had the same Hydro Flask for a decade versus the staunch defenders of their precious status cup

Le Vichyssois was great, but I always did prefer it’s competitor, L’Idiot - but back in the day the negotiations to get a reservation there were killer...

I’m really glad they decided to use a salad dressing bottle mascot on the logo rather than just letting the name stand alone... (the baguette, beret, and neckerchief are nice touches - and how could you not love the lettuce leaf arms? )

I haven’t actually used the app (because “That’s how they getcha!”), but I’m thinking in my area that wouldn’t be an available thing. Most food is “Disney”-priced in my city, but maybe there’s hope and I should check.

Not really a surprise.  Most of the foot-longs I see on the apps get snatched up pretty quickly too (can you really blame the public?)

I’ve been seeing Butter/Boston/Bib lettuce sold in plastic shells as “living” lettuce with the roots attached for decades. I even remember encountering it in Germany at a US military base in the early 2000s - is this not something that is already common across the US (I do have produce-privilege being where I live,

Part of the issue is that these places have come to rely on breakfast as something they can provide for relatively low overhead and a high markup. The consumer is getting wise to this again and is no longer seeing it as a value/something they can’t just prepare at home much more economically.  The McD’s dollar menu

Well the article outright states that they’re targeting Gen Z so there’s no assuming necessarily, it’s a direct statement/the thesis. I just thought it was very odd that Dennis would insinuate something about the aspect of a path to building credit (“you can probably read between the lines”) rather than just outright

What in the Holy Press Release Andrea?!!! I really hope The Takeout didn’t pay anyone to publish this
