Rajj Patel began as an offensive caricature with a faux-Indian accent in 2013
The conclusion in his post is so insulting.
It’s almost like hes been trash for a while now and is only changing it due to backlash related to recent events. Sure he can change, but he looks at least 25 or so. I’m probably close to the same age as this guy and guess what, I never started a twitch channel where I used an offensive stereotypical indian accent. I…
This doesn’t feel like changing for the better. This feels like changing to make sure a revenue stream stays active. Seems disingenuous at the very least.
Seriously, now he decides to drop it?!
No one is talking about his personality except conservatives in an attempt to justify his murder after the fact.
how the fuck can you even post “he was no angel” unironically in the year of our lord 2020. my god, how embarrassing
Can you please point to the articles that paint George Floyd as an angel?
His criminal history is irrelevant. What IS relevant was the cop continuing to knee him down over a prolonged period of time preventing him from breathing, even after George clearly indicated as such, and while his colleagues stood by and did nothing.
The master race, everybody...
Can’t say I’m surprised considering this is the company that still employs Scott “I fart in my employees’ faces and grab their genitals” Gelb.
No, seriously, he’s still the COO

Yes indeed. Keep saying the quiet part loud Ron and those that think like Ron. You truly believe all of this racist bullshit that you create memes for and share. Don’t cry about getting the boot, instead double down and your fellow racists will step with a few dollars.
You can reflect on your role in society and want to do better without feeling guilty. No one should be ashamed of being white, they should be ashamed of how they’ve used whiteness consciously and unconsciously to their advantage.
Until you realize that it is extremely difficult to gain traction with non-established characters. Virtually all superheros in blockbuster movies are several decades old.
you make good points, thanks for making them nicely. I was actually scared to weigh in on this at all, for fear of “stepping in it” big time. There were lots of good feedback in the comments to this post with pretty much 0% personal attacks. (is this still Kinja?) I know that I have a lot to learn, and it’s very much…

Counterpoint: Susan Storm isn’t a real person, never has been, and has no reason to be white either. I’m all in favor of pushing existing minority characters to the forefront because I like when writers flesh out other characters, but the argument against changing characters’ races is weak.
I think part of the point of why it’s silly that they wouldn’t let him cast a black woman is because it wouldn’t have really changed anything. I didn’t see the movie, but it seems to have in fact kind of messed with the characters more by having one of them be black rather than both, because they were supposed to be…
I agree to a point.
Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell have all continued getting consistent work since Fant4stic. To your point, though, I think Kate Mara’s career took the hardest hit out of all of the main actors.
