Really haven’t been paying much attention to this. Two questions-

Any amount for a 911 is dumb. They are a flawed design that Porsche has managed to make work, most of the time. I’m glad they are finally giving the Cayman with it’s engine in a more sane spot the love it deserves now.

Yes. I think the give away is the weird license plate sticker thing on the tailgate. There seems to be no mounting hardware for it. that’s one hour and ten minutes. Distance is 6,830 miles. You can’t make it work at 7,000mph.

The math here doesn’t work. Most people don’t do well with anything over .5g’s for sustained periods. When you constrain the acceleration to .5g’s you can’t actually make the trip in an hour.

Doing the quick math my time is. If it saves me 2 minutes a day I’m in the black after ~6 months.

Years ago in Massachusetts they decided to try replacing the traffic lights with police to help get traffic off cape cod during summer driving peak. It was an unmitigated disaster. Travel time doubled.

Probably has more to do with image than anything. Sure they could build a $25k car it just wouldn’t have all the stupid gizmos a normal Tesla has. That would take away from the image Tesla has worked so hard to make. No self driving, no stupid air vents, no giant center screen that controls everything, no giant glass…

I think they need to be at some sort of industrial center, not your home. As the batteries age their likely hood of doing something bad goes way up. They need to be some where that can handle it easily when one goes pear shaped. In general agreed though grid storage would be a great second life.

They made hundreds of thousands of these things. They’ll be around forever. When ever you aren’t questioning whether or not it’s the right decision, you know you want to buy, one will be available.

This will probably me a million times better to watch then the Ferrari rich guy series they had at the last F1 race I went to.

$3k for something that runs and drives is a win no matter what it is right now.
