2005 Mini Cooper S. Bought with 20k, traded in @55k miles. List of problems I had-

Can = will. It’s proven. Could is a question.

The craziest part of that story is the guy they locked up for for 8 years for helping dispose of the body. If the body is still in the car then.... oops.

There is a lot of confusion here. There is a huge difference between CAN and COULD. This is the same stance they took with cellphones for years even though there was zero proof it interfered with the operation of a plane. I take this is the FAA is too lazy to actually check if there’s a problem and makes everyone

I’m cringing looking at all the holes being drilled in that car. As some one else noted you’ve won the battle but you’re still gonna lose the war. Fix the car properly and don’t drive it in the damn winter!

People are WAY to focused on range. The real problem is recharge time. If my range is 200 miles but takes me 5 minutes to recharge do I care? Not at all. As long as the range is longer than your pee break time your GTG.

They should have walked it back even one more step and offered it in a shift yourself manual. Make it a true almost analog car.

I was driving my Civic hatchback from Cleveland to Boston about 15 years ago. It was rainy and somewhere west of albany, ny traffic stopped, I stopped, the subaru wagon behind me didn’t. My poor little civic got crushed between two cars. Every panel was smashed and all but two windows blew out. I then had to get a

People realize oil is a commodity right? Cheap gas isn’t a right. Peoples memories are short. It’s amazing the general populace doesn’t think gas prices would ever go above 3 or 4 dollars a a gallon again.

A used one with the four wheel conversion seems like it could be a lot of fun. I think for real canyon carving the limited grip from the one rear wheel would be a problem.

The Jeep one is a stereotype for a reason. Pretty sure it’s dead nuts right on.

Mazda always referred to them as 5 doors. The Mazda5 had 5 “doors” and there was the Protege 5 which was a wagon hatchback thing.

The mid 90's had some pretty fantastic cars that in some ways haven’t been rivaled. Engine and overall refinement wise were way ahead of those days now. Fun to drive and styling wise I think we’ve fallen WAY behind.

There’s nothing about it that makes me want to buy it. It’s too big, has too many doors, doesn’t have enough power to be truly sporty. The hatchback part is cool I guess(still too sedan looking) but I’d rather go buy a Mazda3 for the same money.

Mehhh kind of says it all. Move along people nothing to see here.

I look at all the money being spent on autonomous cars and think- We’ve already solved this problem. It’s called trains. If we spent as much on mass transit as we do on making autonomous cars we’d be way better off.

Well since most of of the country has zero mass transit how do you actually get to your job? you don’t. No job, no money. At best you are now a welfare recipient at worst you turn to crime to make some sort of living.

We’re pretty much locked into old cars at this point in my household. Nether me or my wife will drive an auto. This is just another nail in that new car coffin.

10,0o0 people are killed and that’s “a near meaningless portion”? It’s full on 30% off all vehicle deaths. Texting etc may be more likely to cause an accident but I don’t think they cause nearly as many fatal deaths. You don’t see many people texting going 120mph down the highway. Where that is a pretty common

I don’t have the same disdain as most people for Tucker. Was he scummy? Oh hell yeah! Did he take advantage of people? For sure. Did he do anything to end up in prison for decades, I don’t think so. He found a loophole in the law and exploited it to the maximum. The powers that be that had left this loophole had to do
