I thought he was Pop Fart.

She should check out the flip side to the Hamilton love - a great biography about Aaron Burr called Fallen Founder by Nancy Isenberg (and also Gore Vidal's fantastic historical fiction Burr). A smart, witty, fascinating guy who is so much more than just the guy who shot AH.

"Fuck that guy" - Aaron Burr

Who?

Great job, internet. :-/

I agree, but he's careful with how he presents them and the references are not gratuitous - it's always something to do with the story.

You know who else's work is completely soaked in references? TS Eliot. And Shakespeare. And The Simpsons. And Pablo Picasso. And Terry Pratchett. Art throughout history is one giant mass of references and influences. I think Wright does them well and in a playful manner but without beating you over the head with them

The original comic was a great story with a wide variety of references scattered throughout as well. It makes the movie all the more enjoyable on subsequent viewings to suss out the little nods and references to other works (while not detracting from the story), especially in such a meta-fest as Scott Pilgrim. To call

'Is That All There Is' in Scorsese's After Hours as a bedraggled and worn out Griffin Dunne slow dances in an empty punk rock club with the quietly weird and wise June (Verna Bloom).

It can be absurdly hilarious. It can be painful to watch. It can be exciting as hell. It can be boring as fuck. That pretty much sums it up.

Agreed, not really a great actor - but I must say his timing in this scene is really good.

It was also the launching point in the US for Craig Ferguson (I still miss the anything goes, loose familiarity of his Late Show). It had a really solid cast who could do something with not always the greatest material. I've somehow met several members of the cast over the years (Carey, Stiles, Bader) and they were

It's weird, I felt the same about 5th Element - it was dated the day it came out - but I've grown to appreciate its inanity and bowed to its visual prowess. It's not "great" but it's eminently watchable.

He certainly got it from a great source!

How are you at all surprised? Most places will offer about 1/3 the retail price if they're buying unless it's a spectacular piece. You still got a good deal.

Hot Shots Part Deux is one of the greatest comedies of the 90s, and I will fight to the death anyone who disagrees. Well, maybe not to the death. Actually two of my favorite comedies from that era were both sequels (Addams Family Values is far superior than the first one IMO).

Hot Shots Part Deux is even better IMO.

TP and the HBs, no nonsense straight up American rock and roll for over 3 decades and counting. Not a big fan of Greatest Hits albums in general, but some are great - The Beatles Red and Blue compilations (still love those before/after photos looking down from that apartment complex), The Cure - Standing on A Beach

That would be "You can't come home again."

His ultimate goal? A boner.
