It is. The Avondale area, in Chester County, SE Pa, has a large number of immigrants from the Carribian and Central and South America. This area is a huge producer of mushrooms, and use immigrant workers to process the mushrooms. There is also many fantastic ethnic restaurants catering to this clientel.

I think perhaps my/your metabolism just reacts differently from the norm. Tequila makes me stupid and not feeling good the next morning. That’s the only booze that does that. I avoid it, been years.

Over 60 here, and been mixing drinks/beer/wine for decades. Rarely have a hangover, usually only if I stupidly drink Tequila. Typically I’ll start with beer or wine, depending on setting, dinner, etc. Then move on to a variety of mixed drinks and/or shots. I like to hit all the varieties, rum, vodka, gin and whiskey.…

There’s also a movement in Asheville NC pushing a NC style IPA. Big fan of beers from that area. Burial Brewery one of my favs. Surf Wax is superb.  

Wish my local Giant here in Pa had a better variety. Local Wegmans has a much better selection, including a nice variety from Maine Brewing Company. Agree on Focal B, much better than Heady.

One of our favorite restaurants in the Hyde Park area of New York has this wonderful selection of after dinner drinks. Excellent food too.

I like to use the gator sausage in my Jambalaya, it adds a nice flavor to it. But as for filets, I prefer crocodile over gator. It’s not been available for many years now, whereas gator is very plentiful.
