Isn’t it technically illegal seizure to pull someone over without cause? Seems like I remember reading an article last summer about some cops pulling people over to give them ice cream cones that was deemed unconstitutional by a law professor (not officially deemed, of course).

Not like HIPAA but yes, there are rules (in my area, not sure everywhere else) that state license plate inquiries can only be done for law enforcement purposes only. We’ve had guys get in trouble for running checks on ex-girlfriends new boos, inlaws and doing favors for folks. One guy in a county over got fired for it…

It would be funny if someone came out with a minivan called the Stigma.

Having rented minivans to take the family on multiple vacations and being astonished at the amount of cargo they can inhale, how easy they are to drive and the mileage they get, I look forward to getting rid of my Ford Edge this summer and getting a minivan.
