I suspect a lot of that has to do with the fact that voters were less polarized by their party leanings in the past. Now that we’ve been successfully herded into two bitterly opposed camps, people over-identify with what they think their candidate stands for and can’t wait to beat others over the head with it all.

Christian is the best. I’ve been following him since his PR days and he seems to be a genuinely sweet person and also really care for his high profile clients as friends. I hope they team up.

Agreed! I remember my parents would always say that it’s personal and none of anyone’s business who you’re voting for and I remember that seemed to be a general feeling when I first started voting. Now people just spill it unsolicited.

Says the guy who was been accused of rape twice. And is friends with convicted rapist Mike Tyson.

I don’t think he actually knows or comprehends what rape is.

People need to stop using this word to discirbe something they think is horrible. Of all the offensive things trump has said this isnt even in the top ten.

Says the guy who is selling products made in China.

Now playing

Nothing Trump does or says would surprise me anymore—even if he decides to employ Franklin in his stump speeches.

What else would you expect from a man who raped his own wife, and has proudly trumpeted the endorsement from convicted rapist Mike Tyson? Drumpf is a walking, talking, misogynistic, cheet0-dust-covered diaper full of diarrhea.

Trump wishes that on his best day he had a tenth of Scrooge McDuck’s talent an business acumen.

You and Trump have one thing in common - neither of you is a billionaire.

I am not sure he has found a church that believes in Jesus and the bible as much as he does...it would need to be the best church...otherwise he can’t waste his time.

I’ve had to dial back my NPR listening in the mornings because one too many times I woke up to his braying donkey screech owl hybrid voice and it just ruined the first few hours of my day.

I think his core demographic is either of the “boot-strappin’ it” class or the “no one helped me when I was out of work” class.

Notably, those first two items are things that A. are often REQUIRED by municipalities as part of development agreements in order to build on properties and/or B. often result in significant tax abatement for land that could never have been built on, usually for environmental reasons. Also, you know all that land was

Yeah, those bullshit rounds of golf and room stays are known in the hospitality industry as “soft costs” — easy freebies to give out because they’re not a hit against your bottom line the same way an actual check would be. And yeah, you’re exactly right, with the profit margin on food and beverage and other amenities

Same. The average American gives around 2.5-3% of their adjusted gross income to charity. By that math, someone making a mere $50,000/year would donate more in a year than Trump has on average.

That's less than me, non-billionaire. Not that I'm trying to brag about my contributions or anything, but it's just disturbing. I guess that's one way to get rich - Scrooge-style.

I’m hoping the Post’s next story indeed focuses on his taxes. Because if they were to be released, I have every faith we would discover that he pays zero in taxes. That’s the real reason he won’t release them, because he knows that’s a dealbreaker for the middle-class Americans blindly supporting him. Why this guy

And when he does donate, it tends to be things like free rounds at his golf course or a stay at one of his hotels. He will do anything he can to avoid actually opening his wallet. It’s despicable.
