It only underscores just how important it is that we get the white house in November — or that ninth seat will go to a justice hand-picked to give President Trump’s handlers all the rulings they want, up to and including the overturning of Roe.

I had nightmares about those locusts and kept asking my mom if they were coming.
It’s not even just in Texas. Training nationwide is lacking. And that’s for the more “acceptable” earlier stage abortions. Get to the late term and we just have to hope people like Dr Hern live for a long long time and can/want to keep practicing!
The Texas legislature knew exactly what they were doing here, and they knew that even if the law was struck down, they’d win in the mid-term.
I heard that story. And republicans try to pretend these laws and policies are all about the safety of the women. Untrained or poorly trained practitioners are a much greater risk than not having wide hallways. Who do they think they’re fooling?
To compound the issues, even if they can open their doors, they’ll have a difficult time finding doctors who can perform abortions. NPR had a story just the other day about barriers to training in Texas, which basically boil down to Texas thinks it’s acceptable to make their med students go out of state to learn how…
Glad this was overturned but the damage has already been done. It's going to take years for clinics to reopen or to make new ones. Still women are going to suffer while they rebuild.
Bless you. Between the Bible and the year they lived in the sod house, I was legitimately concerned about the threat locusts posed to me as a child.
This seems straight out of the Little House books. #datlocustlife
I’m all about sunhats this year! Straw!
But, unless I missed something, the Supreme Court over-ruled Obama’s executive order on immigration...
This year I have become a huge fan of the sunhat. I have a dri-fit one for when floating on the lake or paddleboarding, and a floppy straw one for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. Gives me some extra security when I forget sunscreen or forget to reapply.
Don’t like how the government works? Don’t work there.
Because we live in a land where this fuckery is celebrated.
It was designed to be struck down. Now they can run their political campaigns with new stories of activist judges and thanks-Obummery.
This seems like a good time for one of my favorite Colbert Report moments:
When we have a federal government that refuses to enact the laws
When we have a federal government that refuses to enact the laws, to administer the laws, when it comes to, uh, making sure that people are held accountable for breaking the law
Dude. You did this part but didn’t include where a 10-year-old asked her a question she couldn’t answer?
My point is basically: after you take them in, then what? You’re taking in hundreds of thousands or millions of people who are then likely to end up in less-than-desirable situations in the long-run. It’s a band-aid in the long haul if you don’t plan this shit out.
