While Bush wrecked the country, you can thank McCain in 2008 for accepting Palin as a VP and legitimizing her brand of idiocy as valid political speech.

Yeah, it’s all obvious to anyone who isn’t a mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging bigot. I know some Republican voters who are going to vote for Trump because they know he won’t really be pulling the strings on anything. Gotta wonder what the hell Trump promised Pence to get him to take the “all work, no glory” role for

But see that’s the thing. Donald Trump is built on making people like Ted Cruz come groveling back like servile puppies after he attacks and humiliates them. That’s what Trump does. No, scratch that. That’s who Trump IS.

How did he expect Cruz to swallow it and come back for more? That’s all he expects people to do.

The move solidifies terrible Cruz as the only Republican candidate with a backbone. Sure, that backbone is totally deformed, but it’s there, which is refreshing to see considering the GOP is populated mostly with fluid-filled invertebrates.

Trump wants that Godfather scene so bad, the one with folks kissing his ring. He’s got it from Christie, from Gentle Ben, from lil’ Marco, and many of the other asshat candidates that ran. That Cruz won’t gives Trump an enemy that will make him seethe. If Trump wins he’ll have Cruz & his sycophants working daily to

GWB saying he’s probably going to be the last Republican president in our time.

It reminds me of trying to force two magnets with matching poles together. Just...can’t...touch.

Eva Longoria is a legitimate activist and deserves credit for the underrepresented causes she champions (such as improving working conditions for farm workers).

Democrats better take the opportunity to actually put together a decent convetion to put this shit to rest. It seems like anything that isn’t this

His policies are worse than Trump’s, even. Mostly because they’re backed by the sincerity of a true believer. Or at least someone who plays a true believer with more verve than Trump does.

I’m really really really scared he’s going to get elected, and I don’t even live in the USA. Not saying Clinton is perfect but at least she’s not a fascist!!! Please people go out and VOTE

More fun!

Always remember the Ted Wedding.

Colbert: “From now on, this shall be known as ‘The Red Convention’.”

I know! I still shudder every time I see him, can’t help it, but he pissed off a whole room of Republicans by asking them to vote their consciences. Odd how fast they understood this could not be an endorsement of Trump.

I want that shit show to be over

This is definitely true. Cruz gets the prize for the most consistent awfulness, without compromise or apology. That they let him speak for half an hour in prime time while he basically announced the parameters of his candidacy for 2020 is really mind-gobbling.

He’s still the worst of the worst. But the chaos factor was grimly gratifying, I have to admit.

Has anything remotely normal happened at this event? There’s a new story about something totally bizarre every five minutes. I can barely keep up.

And then all the Open Carry apeshits open fire on the scary Middle Eastern guy.
