If all you want is to even out skin tone w/o too much coverage you could try tinted moisturizer or a bb cream. I really like Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizers.

My favorite lightweight foundation that still covers discoloration/imperfections, and still looks like my skin is Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. I tried a sample ~2+ years ago when I was dealing with a bad break out and it totally downplayed that w/o concealer and made my skin look dewy and glowy. It is all I have purchased…
