Don’t appeal to your own authority, especially when you’re using it to excuse your blatant revisionism and cherry picking.

You’re being pretentious
If you’re going to make bitchy comments, like many a Nu Who fan does when they’re being schooled, at least address them to me directly.
06/12/1989. Though Scream Of The Shalka showed some promise.
Any other thought terminating cliches you’d like to wheel out? Maybe you could admit you’re wrong. Hope springs eternal.
“Ban this sick filth! Won’t someone think of the children!?! Corruption of the innocent!”
Indeed. But don’t get me started on flippin’ Clara.
The reason why Who was getting fucked at that time was because it was on at the same time as Coronation Street, having been moved from its Saturday slot, so don’t give me that bollocks. Rather tellingly, the show got stiffed just when it was regaining its stride. Funny thing, that.
When you’ve finished appealing to the majority, maybe you could consider that if more people willed it, we would have proper Doctor Who, rather than this tosh.
What pisses me off is that every ‘story arc’ in every series since 2005 has been in one way or another a retread of ‘Bad Wolf’. It’s a one trick pony, and I’m surprised people haven’t given up on it sooner.
Who’s a pendatic twat?
Keep drinking the kool-aid. Or watch some proper Tru Who and see what you’re missing.
Definitely Moffat - if the quality of scripts matched the quality of performance by Ecclestone, Smith and Capaldi, we would have a much better show.
1996 wants its appeal to relativism back.
It’s been run into the ground by one too.
Doctor Who has not been Doctor Who for a very long time.
You make a very good point, and there’s a lot of serious discussion yet to be had on DBZ which is, after all, a pop culture phenomenon. It helps, of course, that he is a classic example of a ‘complex extremist’, which explains his worldwide popularity too. That Vegeta/One Man Punch crossover wasn’t an accident.
I may as well be controversial here and make a point I made at a conference some time ago. Rousey et al aren’t that much different from the women who took part in bare knuckle fights in 18th Century London back alleys. They’re as exploited and just as easily tossed aside, they’re treated half as freaks and half as sex…
The main flaw with democracy is that it encourages half-wits to think their views have merit.
So why aren’t you called ‘Half-Wit’?
