Oh so true! And to tie it back to the OP, the only men who are actually *listening* to women in commercials are hopeless, bumbling know-nothing manchildren, there to be chided and given exasperated grimaces by their long-suffering cleaning-machine wives. Cuz you know, all the REAL men are off not listening to

The Magic Eraser is totally worthy of your love. That thing is a beast!

Just speculating, but I wonder if a lot of men are more talkative with their girlfriend / SO than they are with friends and acquaintances? There's been a lot of words w/r/t the way men tend to "overinvest" in the SO relationship emotionally because they don't have as many other emotional outlets. I imagine that this

It's a lot more responsive and understanding than my commercial-world husband, who has managed to spill EVERY CONDIMENT EVER on his work clothing!

HA! Yes. I love that you and BionicBarry posted the exact same awful trope within seconds of one another.

Ugh. This one pops up a lot in advertising. It needs to join "women having a blast with fun innovative cleaning products" in the junk heap of marketing.

Ah, thank you! I knew it had a more common western equivalent name. I think rape leaf is still the "appropriate" English term for anything but the oil, though. I'll just call it mizuna, thanks.

Ugh, yes. The green itself is used in a lot of Asian cooking, and I can't count the number of times I did a double-take upon reading "delicious soup with garlic, chicken and rape."

Please elaborate! My interest is piqued.

Good god, truly. I want someone to try and introduce an amendment allowing a "conscience exemption" from funding the Dept. of Defense, the private prison industry, and bailing out banks to this bill to highlight the hypocrisy.

Thank you! "Slopping at the trough of luxury" is my go-to description for the parade of first-world material culture that seems to do little to make us actually happy. Hopefully my hypothetical broodlets wouldn't actually tumble *into* the trough ;)

Thanks! It's really incredible to see how changeable the number is depending on your circumstances.

Thanks! Yes, it's almost shocking to me how variable the number is depending on individual circumstances.

Thanks! It is really instructive to see how variable the number is depending on health, insurance, etc.

Thanks! I realized immediately after asking that this is SO changeable and dependent on any of a myriad of health issues for both parent and child, so it's impossible to answer definitively... but I'd rather hear ten different unique stories than a single Googled dollar amount.

Awesome, I'll check this out when I get home! And I agree, LURVE Jinkx. Some of the "woe is me my drag is diff'nt!" act gets a little tired, but that's obviously some producer prodding... this season is really fantastic when it comes to challenges and most of the queens are terrific, but UGH the fabricated reality

I've learned something today, thanks!

How does $33k compare to the average medical costs associated with carrying a child to term and childbirth? That seems ridiculously high on it's face but I have no LuxuriousTroughlets of my own...
