I watched The Last Jedi for the second time this weekend. I had been trying to avoid talk about it, so I did not read reviews/comments before I watched it for the first time. Since I did read what everyone was saying in between viewings, I had some questions about it that I was looking for answers to. There is a lot

I have been playing Mario Odyssey with my 5-year-old son for the past two weeks. It is so much fun yet so complex.

Sick 4-year-old, so basically everything Pixar has released the last 5-7 years.

Nothing new, but I’m watching Tron (1982) and having a nice Scotch.

Ghost In The Sheldon, where he questions what it means when you’re more bazinga than man

No, you’re right. “Make due” is a misspelling.

Off topic: I’ve never really cared for Friends but my wife does, and I told her that everybody else was tied for first while Ross was dead last and that the show would have been fine if he accidentally walked out of a window and fell to his death. She said he was the funniest of all of them. I guess she’s right

A legend in yet another commenting community, Giant Bomb’s tradition of summing up the year in gaming through the weary concision of ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER continues:

I’m pretty sick, and it’s gonna be cold out, so Times Square crowd, you’re on you’re on your own tonight.

After years of hearing the hype about the new Star Wars movies, I finally caved and saw the The Last Jedi a few days ago. It actually is pretty good - certainly better than most installments, which can often be a bit dry and self-important. If I hear good things about the next one, I’ll probably see that too.

Watched a couple old episodes of The West Wing, and ep 1.03 of Black Mirror (“The Entire History of You”). My wife and I love Black Mirror so far but we have to take a break of a week or two between each episode because, my god, they’re stressful.

Because of the holidays I had time for only one movie night this week. I watched La Marquise d’O... with an assortment of leftover Christmas goodies. A few cookies, not frosted though, those all went almost immediately. Some delicious Lindt chocolates that I recovered from a jumble of wrapping paper. The last of the

I can picture some future archaeologist, confronting an archive of billions of Tweets, getting 10 or 20 deep, and throwing up his hands.

Blackadder’s Christmas Carol on VHS.

Predator again

I spent my movie nights this week with the last two of Eric Rohmer’s moral tales. I have nothing to say about them beyond how much I am looking forward now to my movie nights! With these last two extraordinary stories, I can say that Rohmer has joined the very small group of filmmakers who can actually stimulate me!

If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times, asking random passerby to rub you does not make you a genie

This review astonishingly neglects the perhaps most significant moment in the Harding story: the time she bought coffee from the coffee stand where I was working in NW Portland in the mid-90s, and after she left I turned to the other people there and said, and I quote, “Hey, I think that was Tonya Harding.”
