Short Course Off-Road racing. Tickets are reasonable, unlimited pit access to see the trucks up close and meet drivers, both drivers and crews are super friendly and great to talk to. Oh, and there’s the great racing and vehicles that jump about, oh, 15+ feet in the air at 60mph all day every day.

This 1000x. GRC tracks in parking lots are boring......

Just watch out for the fight at the stripper pole, the infield can get a little rowdy.

Nothing beats the feeling of the air sizzling as the car goes by.

That’s what the place I used to work at would do. Fun fact, there’s a house about 300 feet behind the starting lanes, I felt bad for them back in 2011 when due to a rain delay we were still running Top Alcohol / TA Funny Car at 1am....

We were pitted next to Wisconsin Badger Racing whose engine sounded like a lawn mower (single cyl. + turbo combo), we got the PA guy to announce they were looking for a pull start cord. The WTF looks on their team’s faces was the best part, well worth the effort.

I know the process.

If the parts are printed on a laser sintering machine, it’s 100% possible to 3D print the parts to build a missile. Same for guns, for that matter. And tanks, provided the machine is large enough to build the largest parts.

Huh, learned something new, didn’t realize the 6507 chip was 8-bit.

That’s not even 8-bit, that’s Atari 2600 or Collecovision territory right there.

Contrary to popular belief, IndyCar, NHRA, Formula 1, etc. who have their own travelling safety team are still supplemented by teams provided by the facility, I’d say the split is about 50/50.

Man, you think for all the money Bruton / SMI has thrown around for massive video screens and stuff, they’d be able to afford people better than the Three Stooges for fire safety.

“I did not learn my AA-BB-CC’s. God god dammit dammit.”

I can do you one better: The 1080km / 670 mile course used for the Targa Florio between 1948 and 1950, covering the entire island of Sicily.

I find lots of my posts don’t get the attention of others, it comes with the territory I guess.

Bonneville is (sadly) disappearing every year.

In a way it’s the ultimate Tilke-drome, long straights followed by hairpins.

It still can’t hold a candle to the original 12-mile long AVUS circuit.

At the same time, Boywer was probably going about 20mph, drivers tend to push the limits of what’s considered “slow speeds” in the garage area.
