I had a depression so bad after treatment for cancer that I contemplated killing myself for days on end and eventually wound up on the mental health ward of the hospital. The year of treatment for cancer - chemotherapy, surgery, radiation was NOTHING compared to the depression I suffered from after treatment was over.

It’s even uglier when you don’t have money, emotional empathy from family and friends, beauty and fame. I don’t have anything against Dakota (god, how I loathe that name), but jfc, there’s nothing beautiful about mental illness.

Depression is not beautiful, depression is an ugly bitch.

No wonder pissy white men are so terrified of black women, and fighting so hard to prevent Western society becoming an actual meritocracy. They know their inferiority. They know that if women like this received what they actually deserve, there’d be nothing left for their sorry arses.

There was an interesting piece, can’t remember where, talking about how the nation has been fundamentally unable to grapple with the reality of the pandemic because we lack images of people suffering and dying from it. Due to privacy/HIPAA laws, there are next to not photos of patients choking and dying with

And to put it in language the Boomers can understand, cowboys wore masks. Name me one male Boomer who didn’t want to be a cowboy when he was a kid. Now’s your chance! Yee-haw!!!

What I love is how ANY and EVERY white person is deputized to enforce their version of the law when they see fit. BUT when the ACTUAL LAW is applied like, say...requiring them to stay inside for their own safety, well then that’s governmental overreach. Lord knows we cannot step on their Constitutional rights.

Elon Musk has more money than anyone needs. He has enough to live in luxury for the rest of his life. But he’s still willing to literally risk his employees’ lives so that he can make more money. He’s a cartoon villain come to life.

This whole debacle just makes me want to highlight lady recipe makers/home chefs out there who get overshadowed by this type of celebrity stuff.

Every time something like this happens, I wind up thinking that coming for Chrissy Teigen is the internet equivalent of invading Russia in the middle of winter. And then somebody else is foolish enough to do it again...

I’m not a fan of Teigan, who seems mostly famous for being famous. I am agnostic on Kondo, except that rash of articles last winter about people being like YOU CAN PRY ALL MY BOOKS FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS was hilarious.

She never called a 12 year old a cunt. The Onion did that.

I was with you until the whole her husband is a dork, it’s not about race or sex shit. Why do white people always want to tell you it is not about race without checking their internalized racism? I was not born in this country and yet I am always checking how casually racism is imbued into every part of our lives.

Considering the interviewer named dropped goop and Alison was smart enough to not come for goop but reached for Marie and Chrissy so easily is problematic. Millennials (who are almost 40 btw) know goop, rachel ray, giada etc. Marie Kondo is not in the cooking sphere so why bring her up? She made fun of Marie’s accent

She started from a place of celebrity, of course it happened quickly and for others not at all.

No one should say anything about Chrissy Teigen publicly without the expectation that she will respond. She always responds, any time anyone says anything about her, anywhere.

The Alison thing is such an unforced error on her part. The interviewer did not bring up Chrissy or Marie Kondo. The interviewer did bring up goop and Alison was like, nah, I’m reaching for these two Asian women to shit on instead. Mean girl and cool girl (TM) vibes all rolled into one.

I cannot star this comment enough.

Jane Goodall has lived a life of fearless badass-ery. I, too, greatly admire her and I, too, am confused by Joan Summers’ comment. But I also have to ask: doesn’t anyone read Summers’ posts before they go live? I know all kinds of typos and grammar issues have been pointed out recently so it’s not a proofreader who’s

I’m not convinced Joan actually knows who Jane Goodall is...
