I like the idea of Tony, but the execution felt completely off.

Not to mention that weird throwaway line on how Mendonza was gone for the moment because of some scandal but would be back soon. What the fuck was that?

Tony!… said no one ever.

HoC also looks really amazingly good for a TV show. It absolutely looks like a David Fincher movie, and when you have talented actors in a visually impressive production, it's easy to not notice the writing is so contrived.

I've been meaning to watch Paris is Burning for the longest time. It's definitely on my to-do list.

No! I only caught up with Drag Race last year, and I was pumped to throw some shade in the weekly reviews…

I could be way off here, but when RuPaul describes himself as a tranny, doesn't he mean a transvestite? Which is different from a transexual in that transvestite really does just mean a man in a dress, rather than a gender identity. This doesn't make his use of "tranny" any less offensive, of course, but I don't

I think Doug could have had an interesting arc. But his "redemption" was drinking again and doing the same shit he used to do for Frank, but this time for Dunbar. Honestly, regardless of Rachel's fate his arc would have been pretty crappy. I am now starting to doubt it even was a redemption arc in the first place, or

I don't feel they need the monologues to explain his motivations, but they were great at showing Frank's skewed worldview and added a lot of humor.

I really liked the way the scene was shot, with the van speeding towards her and the cut to her in the grave. But I hated the way that plot was written and its conclusion. Which is as good a metaphor for the show as any, really.

Honestly, why even hire Kim Dickens if you're just going to waste her like that?

I felt the arc they were shooting for with Doug worked much better with Dunbar. She legitimately goes from very ethical, ruthless pursuit of justice to a morally compromised politician willing to use any tools at her disposal to win.

Debate episodes really bring the best in tv writers. Parks and Rec, Veep, The West Wing and now House of Cards all had debate episodes that ranked among my favorite episodes of each of these series.

I love the staging too, as the scene begins with her sitting in the oval office, and the role of the presidency hanging over them.

Makes me wonder if Patricia Arquette is kicking herself for accepting the CSI role now that the Oscar win increased her profile again. Maybe it's just my love of Enlightened talking, but I'd much rather see her on HBO.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but didn't care enough to look it up. That said, a (non-CSI) show starring Ted Danson and Patricia Arquette would definitely pique my interest.

Not to mention "James Van Der Beek (Don’t Trust the B—— In Apartment 23)", when Beek Jeans are really his crowning achievement.

Then forget the dance floor and hang out near the bar, or sit down somewhere with your friends. Which part of the bar experience is specifically making you nervous? I may be able to give you better advice if I know.

Keep in mind that the things I said don't necessarily mean he's not into you. What with the hugging and all, it's possible he'd rather be your friend first and let whatever may happen, happen more slowly. A lot of my friends are more guarded with older guys because they can be dicks to younger ones, even more so to

As someone who has slowly overcome my bar shyness, there are my tips: get some drinks in you (but not too many!) and feel free to just hang out with your friends until you feel more comfortable. Try to both be receptive when others talk to you and adventurous when you want to talk to someone. If someone hits on you
