Ectopic pregnancy is not a moral debate. There are scientific facts around it. Namely that the embryo is not viable and it’s life threatening. Politicians that don’t understand the medical facts need to let doctors do their thing.

I guess the counterpoint is that a lot of holiday food really isn’t that good for humans. You know why my kids won’t eat the green bean casserole? Because the beans are mushy and covered in slime, as opposed to every time I serve them at home when they are steamed. My kids will be eating rolls and the raw veggies from

I’m in a book group that uses a private Facebook group to organize. Each member has a month. In advance of that month, they put up 3-4 books in a poll, winning book is what we read. Put 3-6 times/dates that they can host a multi vote poll, winning date is when we meet. Host puts that in an event. Usually people host

My workplace organized flu shot clinics and farmed it out to a regional grocery store chain. They offered $5 store credit for getting a shot if you presented your grocery store loyalty card. Other stores were doing similar promotions. My co-worker and I laughed about whether we could get multiple shots. My

I also think that if you are hating the cold where you live, you ought to try a pair of snow pants. I bought a $20 pair of Target snow pants when my kids were wee and needing supervision as they ate snow in the back yard. They are my favorite winter thing. They are big enough that I just throw them on over whatever

It’s not the thinness of a phone that matters to some of us. Being a woman, I’m constantly dealing with shallow pockets, despite shopping for clothes with pockets in mind. Fatter, but less long items stay securely in my pockets better than thin, long ones.

I hired a doula with my first pregnancy about 10 years ago. I’d absolutely say that 1) meeting your doula before you are in labor and 2) discussing what kind of birth (birth plan) the family wanted were hallmarks of that relationship. I’ve not heard of hospitals “assigning” them. This sounds to me like a hospital is

Lots of good advise here about the coat. If you are going to be outside for any length of time, I recommend snow pants. You can go cheap on this. I have a $20 target pair of snow pants that I regularly put over whatever I’m wearing to wait for the bus. I look like the stay puft marshmallow man, but I'm the warmest

This is exactly what our afterschool program does.

Our school has a school based program. It runs before (as early as 7) and/or after (as late as 6). They often organize a field trip for half days, and they cover snow delays. Many families do five days a week, but they also accommodate cases like ours where we only need it a couple days a week and the occasional

To be honest, I don’t do I lot of in-person shopping anymore. Work, kids, aging parents, one-car family. I’m the kind of person who orders shampoo on Amazon Prime, because my windows for running stupid errands are days and days apart. I would like to see more online shops adopt Modcloth’s approach of showing a style

I don't fertilize my lawn. My kids play there. The shit needs to be elsewhere.

Right!? Next thing you know, people will be surprised to hear that breathing stuff that’s not air into your lungs can be harmful.

Hmm. It’s getting hard to remember all the things I shouldn’t say. Not sure we say practice makes perfect. We do say that certain things need to be practiced. Our eldest has a heck of a time with handwriting and we tell him that some things come easier to people than others and if something doesn’t come easily, he may

And a change of clothes, change of footwear, and a garbage bag. Especially with kids. Strip em down on the threshold of the car (only clean limbs are allowed in, Pack the muddy stuff up in a garbage bag.

I’d want to know that 1) the kid is getting some sort of services/counseling and 2) the parents were contacted and had agreed to secure and/or increase security on their guns.

We recently were told by our child and our bus driver about an incident. Another child punched my child while the kids were all walking out to buses at the end of the day. Both my child and the bus driver said that my kid’s teacher was there. We waited a couple hours to see if the teacher would call us (she didn’t)

Yeah, but I don’t get what there is to LIKE about him. He’s a centrist? I’d honestly rather have Mayor Pete.

Re: Handmedowns. A lot of places have twice yearly consignment sales (spring and fall) that are an amazing source of bargains, both clothes and toys. My MIL loves a good bargain and she will shop them for me (she’s retired, I work full time).

My kids have a switch. The last Zelda I had played was links Awakening on Gameboy. I love BOTW. Sometimes at the end of the day, a play for a bit just to catch a sunset.
