Why can't GM sell this with just a badge change in the US?

If GM actually did this it would effectively negate the entire point of creating the Lambda crossovers in the first place.

@Spasticteapot: So in other words if you need to go fast and haul stuff just buy a Pontiac G8 ST?

That is probably the best looking fullsize truck on the market now, easily better than the bland and ugly vanilla offerings from GM and Ford.

@Mad_Science: That someone is JHP www.jhp.com.au who sells any Holden part you desire, including the Chevrolet badges Holden enthusiasts put on their cars Down Under.

Still looks way too Japanese for an American car.

It's likely a new Night Runner, Daytona or HEMI Sport model. I don't think ChryCo will ever produce another SRT10 RAM. It'd be nice if they made an SRT10 Challenger though.

I'd rather see a headline like "Ford Unveils Kuga for US Market".

There was an engineer dressed as a movie character in that film? I didn't catch it because that car looks and sounds phenomenal!

Edmunds gave it a good review as well as Motive Mag (which was posted here on Jalop as well).

@Corvette_Thunder: I think you and Parramore46 are the only ones who've commented so far that actually understand this car.

Incredibly cool.

Once again, Australia makes us look like pure, politically correct sissies.

RWD, turbo power.

800hp shouldn't be much of a problem for tuners.

@Preferredcustomer: I realize the revised Northstar is in modern Caddies, but this thread is about cheapengine swaps. I doubt you guys are going to find cheap Northstars in late-model Caddies wrecked or not.

I had a '99 Concours with this engine and it is a honey, way ahead of it's time for debuting in 1992.

I owned two AMCs of this vintage, both well over a decade old at the time and neither one of them was rusty. AMC used Zeibart body treatment on the panels of these cars and at least in South Dakota they resisted rust extremely well. My '87 Grand Wagoneer which was also an AMC was an entirely different story. It rusted

It's safety regulations and the increasing size of vehicles demanded by consumers that result in modern cars weighing what they do more than anything else. Most cars aren't made out of advanced materials either, they are still mostly steel to keep costs where we want it.
