GM is marketing the car as a value BMW 5-Series, which it isn't. Nobody in Australia compares or cross-shops Holden with BMW, that'd be like us saying Chevrolet is comparable to BMW.

Pontiacs should be made to resemble Holdens, not the other way around. If GM treated Holden products that way then people wouldn't be complaining about horrible grilles and hood scoops.

Australia gets all the nice cars because they build them for themselves, Holden and Ford AU use the best stuff out of their companie's global parts bins. Toyota Australia knows the Camry looks like ass so they restyled it into the Aurion to give it a better chance, and so fourth.

Just what we needed, a supersize Ford ripoff of the Scion xB.

A manual will be offered in 2009 on the G8 GXP which also includes the 430hp LS3 engine.

Peugeot's bringing sexy back, those other wagons don't know how to act...

This niche will die (and should die) if it ever gets to this point again.

Modern wagons are vastly preferable to SUVs, trucks and big fat crossovers. It's really a shame this country shuns them.

The Taurus X is Ford's most underrated family car IMO.

Prometheus is the US military satellite weapons system, which is based on KITT's AI.

Stretch HUMMER H2 in olive green. Guns mounted on the top. With truck nutz.

I dig those crazy Australian Fords, black accents and all.

Ford and GM's Aussie operations continue to make better American-style cars for their own market than their motherships do.

Will they be sold at IKEA?

The original KITT was executed so much better. This one is postively sloppy. At least the hood scanners look cool though.

I'm resigned to KITT being a Mustang but I really wish they had blacked out the wheels, badges and lights to give it a more sinister look like the original.

He's right. It's the first thing people complained about on the Euro Astra when GM decided they would sell it here.

Now THAT'S a diesel.

My point is these vehicles are exceptional products but for whatever reason that seems to become lost on us when they are actually sold here.

We do crave ugly and cheap.
