I own a 9 year old Volt and despite the fact that its a complex car with 2 powertrains and was developed back when most people thought it was insane to stick a huge lithium ion battery in a car its been dead-reliable and does exactly what it was meant for: a commuter car that saves money by using battery power for

while the electric Hummer looks like it mightend up being too little too late”

GM bad because they black listed us after we leaked the C7 and crashed a Camaro at the launch?

Sorry, was there a point to this article other than reinforcing staff writers not liking GM?

How can the new EV Hummer be “too little too late” when the EV market makes up a tiny tiny sliver of total auto auto sales?

Jalponik is like the Eeyore of automotive journalism. Title of this article could be a direct quote.

Right? A co-worker just got a 2016 Volt and loves the shit out of it.

His own opinion.

Instead, it has focused more on electrification and self-driving technology. The problem is that it doesn’t do either of those things particularly well.

The Bolt and Volt have been mediocre

With all due respect, you’re smart enough to know that product development takes a lot longer than a few weeks. Especially engine spec and placement. You guys were looking for a reason to give Cadillac shit and then had to put foot in mouth a week later when they showed their hand. Now it looks like you’re doubling

This is a 100% certainty, product development times are measured in years in the car industry and decisions as monumental as what engine gets installed where can’t be made on a whim. Thousands of hours of testing and certification need to be done for each powertrain configuration.

Seriously?  Give me a break.

No they’re not. After the Ford Pinto, Ford Exploder issues and the crazy number of transmission failures they’ve had in the last ten or so years.

I’m all for fair and honest feedback and critique of any company, but this is anything but that. You’d have to be blind to not see that Jalopnik has had it out for GM ever since they got kicked out of the Camaro launch for crashing their car and haven’t been invited to launches since they leaked the C7. If Jalopnik

imagine the reaction from the almost obsessively anti-GM Jalopnik staff if the company announced a Camaro electric crossover that looked like Elvis in the mid ‘70s

If this was GM you’d be writing 817 articles about how they’ve diluted and ruined the brand by turning a performance brand into an electric crossover and how it’s the worst thing to happen to the auto industry since that other thing GM did.

GM didn’t copy Tesla because Tesla doesn’t make any money.

Show me on the doll where GM touched you, Raph.

Yup. Yup. Yup. Modern unions are worse than the companies they are supposedly trying to protect the workers from. More people need to realize that modern labor laws have essentially replaced the majority of what unions accomplished when they were formed.
