It’s odd that there is so much resistance to having a completely closed cockpit. F1 has always worked so hard to improve aero in these cars, with builders going to all kinds of length for a tiny (but not insignificant) advantage. It seems that being able to construct a full fairing would not only avoid problems like

This stuff here is your friend in the winter months. I spray pretty much the entire underside of my truck just before snowfall. It gets into all of the nooks and crannies (places that salty slush like likes to get stuck and rot metal)

I have an analogous story to that, but for the Materials Science oral test for my PhD.

Myfuncar answered it right... was a manual Jetta TDI (one of the cheaters). She drove about an hour away and then stalled it (was really easy on that car) in the middle of an intersection.

Fuck that push button start shit. Got my wife stranded once, and the feel of turning the key and the engine starting... <yesssss>

Was driving to work a couple years ago in pea soup fog. Everyone including me is crawling, and staying relatively close to the person in front - I mean why leave a foggy gap for a deer or another driver to suddenly appear in? You used your common sense and kept the speed and distance right for stopping and visibility

I’m all about open top vehicles and all, but did they not bother to include a roof panel?

Nothing that an electric fence power unit with a disconnected battery cable wouldn’t have solved.

That is an excellent comparison, since these things apparently also depreciate like a rock. Neighbour just bought one with a few 10k miles on it (really nothing for a diesel truck): List new 75k. Got it for a hair under 50k.

When will you be taking it to a Cars and Coffee?

Don’t have a story per se, but I don’t think that we will see too many stories that don’t involve getting rid of the car to save the relationship/marriage...

Jesus, yet that thing STILL looks in better condition than Tavarish’s...

Soooo, developed in Aussitown, will we get the rollbars then?

Industrial chemical supply houses like Sigma. Can get anhydrous IPA at 99.9999% pure. It has to be purified chemically beyond 97% or so, as distillation doesn’t work after that.

+1 for correct use of $MM

Is it weird that of all the vehicles in this 9-minute Porsche-gasm, I really want to hoon that Man carrier?

Ugh. I can see the channellocks and i swear the end of a pair of vise-grips.

...

Aaaaand we’re done.
