I literally lol'd at this... for perhaps the first time I can remember doing so with a random image I saw on the internet. Well played, sir.

I appreciate and applaud that, rather than saying "screw it, slap a Star Fox onto the Wii, we already started it," they waited for the hardware to be right. They weren't withholding it for their own amusement; the time just wasn't right and they didn't think the hardware and software worked together. Not that Nintendo…
I'm more excited about my $18 copy of The Wonderful 101 to come in than I was about anything I saw yesterday... Which, again, I think illustrates how screwed Nintendo is. I've become increasingly bewildered as to how the "big" games are so big, and was disappointed by the glut of sequels to franchises. Lots of folks…
I think they're smart to stick around as the system lacks a racing sim, meaning they'll be serving a sorely under addressed need. This is what I love about indie devs: they don't just focus on boardroom nonsense. They see a home for their software that makes sense, and they take a shot and hope for the best. As…
Just bought it myself, and can't wait for it to come in to try it out! It seemed INCREDIBLY divisive, and I've found that, contrary to the norm, I tend to agree with the naysayers in those cases, but for this price, I couldn't say no. I'm excited to have an informed opinion on the title.
Counterpoint: maybe many of those fans like Nintendo's games because they're different, hence why third party titles don't sell on the Wii U? I could play plenty of these games on my PC.... But... I don't want to. Because I'm not interested in them. Today's E3 press made it clear to me that the "mainstream" games…
I don't care in the slightest about exclusive titles. I want good games, and Ubisoft lacks those (personal opinion on that front, having bought Zombi U, Rayman Legends and AC4 for the console). Now they're pulling support for games they've already developed. I'm annoyed that they refuse to release games when the…
Mine has been EA for some time now, but this doesn't help Ubi in my book. They aren't releasing much of anything I give a damn about anyway, so ignoring their output from here on would be pretty easy. I game on PC as well, so it's not like they COULDN'T still profit off of me, but that's the fate EA already suffers. I…
I was both pleased and impressed to see the overall lack of brown-gray color palettes. I pray that this is a sign of things to come.
From what I've seen so far this year, it seems like the only way developers have found to reinvigorate stale franchises is co-op.... And I don't think co-op is enough to improve them... It just feels like something to add to the box blurb and try to get more people to but it for something "new," even if it doesn't…
I got the first game, and really disliked the gameplay. Got 4 assuming it would be dramatically improved based on the great reviews, but it fixed nothing about the game that I disliked, like the boring mission types, and the asinine requirements to pass missions (the stealth mechanics are pretty much garbage... I can…
At that point, though, isn't it their fault for not showing a trailer indicative of the game's art style and gameplay? Why release a trailer for any reason beyond evaluating it and developing opinions about it? Obviously they want them to be good ones, so why not release something indicative of the game itself?
I got Mirror's Edge as part of the Humble EA Bundle and started playing, fully ready to be blown away by what seemed to be a game getting a bum reputation, which I assumed came from people who expected it to be another modern shooter or something.
This seems to be the ultimate admission that they have no idea what to do with Rare's properties, and that evidently Rare can't be trusted anymore. It screams "Well, I don't know what to do with the IP.... Let someone else make a damn Conker game! Literally, anyone!" Sad that the only application they have for a…
The art style felt really weird to me... like they couldn't commit to "realistic" graphics, or colorful ones. I feel like most of Platinum's output is decidedly in one direction or the other. This felt like a really uncomfortable meshing of the two for me that really didn't work.
Will do! That's the bitter truth of times like E3, though, we all let our biases get in the way of other people's joy... Which in retrospect was kinda a dick move on my part. Noted for future reference. It's a time to celebrate the news that comes in about the games we love... Why let fanboy bullshit get in the way of…
I fail to see the irony, unless you don't get why Zelda gets the love it does, in which case, opinion respected. Opinions and diversity make the world go 'round, and make games as a medium all the better for it.
I also guess so? Trying to determine if that's some sort of dig at me or not, but yes, I will continue enjoying what I enjoy and hope everyone else does the same. One asshole not getting Metal Gear shouldn't stop anyone else.
I loved the first one, and from there it got progressively more bizarre to me, and I don't get the love the franchise gets. I feel like people love it simply for trying and/or pretending to be deep and meaningful, but every time I see people discussing it, and how inane or sounds, I'm glad I got out when I did. The…
This week in games: an ungodly amount of preorders available based on prerendered E3 trailers alone for games coming out in late 2015.
