Important correction to the article: Purchasers own the car, period. There’s two years of factory event support included in the purchase price, but after that period ends we still OWN the car, and for that matter can (and will) continue to do events with it, it’s just pay-as-you-go at that point.

The 570 is much lighter, and as a convertible it has a C/F tub which is more rigid than the cabrio turbo S. Suspension on the 570 is considerably more plush, courtesy of having the engine properly amounted admidships. Plus, the 570 looks like a mid-engine supercar, while the Turbo S looks like... every other 911 out

It is AWD

Got to hand it to Porsche, I’m totally not in the market for a new Turbo, but they have made it So. Damn. Good...

Well put.

Speaking as a serious Ferrari owner and enthusiast- that big key would be a huge turn off.

“Durango Demon” just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it...

The team captain weighed in separately and stated that he told the driver to pit, repeatedly, and the driver ignored him. Considering the driver’s statements and the video evidence -- guess who I believe?

For the record: I knew that I was choosing between a car that would impress other people (my other spec was a conservative black / blue bonnet design), and a car which would make ME grin every time I saw it. Ultimately I decided I’d rather tolerate the inevitable internet scorn in order to have the car which called to

The Pista is very fast, but it’s not quicker than the P1 / LaFerrari / 918 trio from 4 years ago. I don’t recall anyone complaining that those cars were overpowered? All of these vehicles require caution with the right foot, particularly if you turn off the traction control, and that’s part of what makes them fun to

Agreed. Good on you for getting your Senna out on track, and for being a courteous driver in it to boot.

Correctamundo. Heavy cornering load (look at the car’s lean) coupled with cresting hill (less traction) coupled with throttle, coupled with no countersteer (wheels are still straight when the car’s pointed at the wall).

I own a Demon, I commute in it, and I use cruise control a fair bit to ensure the car doesn’t meander towards “arrest me now” speeds. I realize it sounds funny, but high-HP cars are harder to drive at a constant freeway speed, because even small changes in accelerator pedal pressure yield large speed differences...

The Senna looks spectacular when clad in racing livery. Y’all just wait :)

In racing we sometimes encounter animals on the track. We’re usually going very fast when this happens. The rule of thumb is: if you could eat it in a single sitting, don’t swerve.

Bless you for posting this. Made my day.

It was an amazing thing to watch. Marc is unbelievable.

For the record, events are not nearly that expensive. My wife and I have both a 599XX and an FXX-K in the series, we’re attending four of the ten events in 2018 (two in the USA and two in Europe), and our _total_ costs for the year are under $250K for both cars combined, including yearly storage and maintenance by

It’s not a great secret. Buy a used 599XX when one comes on the market - they’re about $1.3M last I checked. Once you have the car, join the Corse Clienti program and show up to the events. If you drive competently (or better) and are courteous on track, you’ll be welcome in the club!

Yes, that was me. It was a lesson in how things can go viral on the interwebs, that’s for sure.
