Really, the regular Hellcat is more problematic to drive. Their little 275-series all season tires simply don’t have the grip to match that car’s torque. The Demon at least comes with big sticky meats to match its mighty motor.

I will add only: if you’re a woman who love TO race, be prepared for men be incredulous that a woman could be faster than them on track. When you then catch up to them, be prepared for them to push themselves so hard that they lose control, rather than acquiesce that you’re simply the faster driver.

Ask and ye shall receive.

... that weighs 4300 lbs. The Chiron is a superb GT car, but it’s not a track car.

Yup. The 488 is also significantly lighter, so it has a substantial advantage in both high-speed braking (I’ve seen 2.1G braking from 130 MPH) and medium-high speed cornering (e.g. 1.7G sustained cornering load @ 80 MPH).

We have both cars, so I feel somewhat qualified to answer this question.

The ACR weighs about as much as a “regular” GT, costs less than half, and will stomp it around the track. Three good reasons to do as you suggest. I did :)

Wait - is this going to be a street-legal car, or a true competition vehicle? It wasn’t clear from the article, but the interior renders have no roll cage and thus I’d expect this is a lightened street car. I wonder if they ditched the active aero and suspension as well, which might let them get close to the McLaren

Now playing

It is the best sounding street car I have ever heard. No bias :)

Seriously. You wouldn’t believe how many requests I get for bread on cars since this Jalopnik article.

Indeed, you could certainly turn faster lap times for a similar price by buying an ex-LMP car. There’s a lot more to the XX program than just the car however. If it suits you, terrific! If not, other options are available.

True. We’re always in season :)

A quick search with your favorite search engine will reveal that this picture has been floating around the internet since December 2012, when it was taken. Christmastime in Northern California is often dry and sunny :)

We took that picture in early December, a couple weeks before Xmas.

I am afraid that show’s information is as suspect as the cannabis they purport to be smoking :) At any rate - I don’t have any of the ‘big 4', nor a Cali-T, and my LF Spider is going to be yellow. So... QED.

Nope.

The yellow version looks even better — in my unbiased opinion, of course :)

Yup, it is a dog’s life for @racepooch

There were personnel present from both mfr’s, but in the end they did not have much to do. Each told Randy how to get the most out of the car - from Porsche, advice on braking and how to set the car into regen mode in between hotlaps, from McLaren, regen and how to use the DRS button - and each tended to tire

Polarized lenses are not an issue.
