I'm curious how strong these things are in the first place. A clear plastic case? I don't think that's going to stand up very well against a couple of strong, abrupt tugs. You may be able to buy misguided piece of mind for $65, but actual security? Time will tell I guess.

@vinod1978: A lot of companies will very often run courtesy services such as this, precisely because it is good for business. In fact, this is the first I've heard of a carrier NOT having some sort of mail in practice for phones reported found.

@amishonline: I really don't see how it hurts them at all. Their laptop is sold anyways... What you want to do with it on the aftermarket should be entirely up to you. Apple just doesn't like to be shown up, and if they can flex their muscles at a partner, they will.

Oh shit... It's almost like they have actual, living, breathing, feeling people that work there. I for one will not rest until every person on this earth responsible for touching my junk is brainwashed into being a robot. You're not allowed to have a soul when you work for the devil.

They were held back by legal process and every government possible ordering them to hold on to the data so they could review it. "Relented"? They didn't want to hang on to it in

Woo! Progress!

You know, honestly, the trouble is not that the TSA keeps dictating these laughably bad security measure that make no difference... It's that every US friendly country doesn't have the balls to tell them to shut up and put up and to give these jokes a rest already. If world leaders actually led for a change, the US

Ha... Right... Like I'd let them become my email hub.

@Praetor: "I'm lucky enough to live in a dense enough area that I can drive to a Best Buy or GameStop or one of several other brick and mortar shops to buy a game and be back home faster than I could download it from Steam."
