I suspect that’s because you haven’t seen it. It makes the New Testament make sense better than more over-the-top productions like Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ.”
I used to see Zeffirelli’s “Jesus of Nazareth” being televised every Lent. Then it just … faded away. As a Roman Catholic I find that a crying shame, and maybe a symptom of the general dumbing down not just of my religion but of everything else in Western culture.
In other words, so far as the U.S. Republican Party goes … Hail HYDRA.
Was wondering if somebody had brought the DCEU up in this thread … and yes, the DCEU (at least the movie part of it) is a bitter disappointment for me. Especially in comparison to the DCAU.
You know, come to think of it, I have hardly ever seen an anime in which the hero wasn’t a teen-ager or outright kid. And likewise there are only a handful of anime heroines who aren’t cute and subordinate, if not outright submissive. (makes me wonder how they reacted to Peggy Carter, let alone to Maria Hill, Natasha…

Would it be insulting to suggest that maybe they’re seizing a chance to be proud of their thunder thighs for once?
Let’s see now … I really liked Black Cat, the Avengers: Endgame group, Mary Jane, the Musketeer from Granado Espada, Alita the Battle Angel and Starfire.
As to the Flash’s costume — if we’re talking the one with all the inexplicable stripes and stuff, then yes, it’s terrible. Might even make Captain America feel better about that suit Phil Coulson made him wear.
Since 2016 I have tended to equate Zack Snyder fans and supporters of Donald Trump in this important sense: both groups are going to increasingly great lengths to justify the unjustifiable. Amirite?

“Defensive Zack Snyder fans launch petition to see his ‘original’ cut of Justice League.” … Again?
Hey, now -- a story about canine sidekicks, but no Krypto the Superdog? Lame!
Those iconic machine guns … wouldn’t it have been more practical to put one big gun along the car’s centerline? More balanced, and more likely to do fatal damage. (Or I could be wrong, of course …)
The Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue … Isn’t that the one that caught on fire in the middle of last year? Where someone died? And then toward the end of 2018 Trump sued the dead guy?
… Ah … This is a joke, right? … Please … p-please tell me this is a j-joke ...
I didn’t watch Game of Thrones at all, nor did I want to after hearing about the Red Wedding. With this in mind, I’d just like to know: Is GoT going to be this generation’s Star Trek? Or its Dallas?
I’m sure I’ll be in the minority, and I’m just as sure you young whippersnappers won’t understand my reference, but any list of cool artists that doesn’t include Audrey Hepburn is woefully incomplete.
