I think it kind of depends on how strictly you view continuity. If you’re an “everything counts unless it’s explicitly retconned or rebooted” then it’s definitely true that continuity can be a burden and writers have to do DC-style cosmic retcons on a fairly regular basis. But for the most part Marvel is pretty loose…
