I moved from NC to California a few months ago and fuck if I don’t miss NC. Part of my reason was being so fed up with the direction McCrory, Art Pope, and the Koch brothers have taken the state. Now I’m determined to go back ASAP (within five years but starting to considering by this time next year). The people there

No no don’t curse NC to be the next Texas. Please don’t!

Never forget!

Preach 👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼

Ya’ll don’t need to drag the barbecue into this hot mess. It’s one of NC’s greatest accomplishments (along with Pepsi).

Second the Northeast racist assholes moving to here, oops NC (I keep forgetting I moved away this year 😭).

No they didn’t. The democrats ruled North Carolina since reconstruction. The “tea party” wave of 2010/2012 radically changed the state government.

Love this:

Just a minor thing from your what you said: I just moved to LA and if I hear one more person tell me that “very soon” I’ll “get over” all my not-LA sensibilities and ditch my not-LA clothing, trinkets, and friends, I just might cut a bitch.

I’m not quite sure how to feel about the fact you point out that you feel like you’re not in the “target demographic” because you’re wealthy and white. Like, the target demographic is women. Though, yes for sure, a certain segment of that demographic may feel the burden more due to income or race and how that lines

Subverting their Christian beliefs to support your claim is a bit reaching. Asking “do you forgive him” is a standard question when the victim is a professed Christian (since Christianity places a huge emphasis on forgiving no matter what the sin was, because all sins are equal).

As someone who grew up in rural America and has worked in both rural America and urban America: the problems are essentially the same once you gets to the root causes. Let’s stop the urban vs rural bullshit that keeps any real work from getting done to fix the problems and just fix the problems.

Oh, yeah. One of my coworkers is Chicano and he didn’t vote. He said he was happy Trump won and I was like, “and this is why all the Mexicans here [at work] make fun of you for being basically a white guy.” He said he wasn’t worried about his family members that are undocumented being deported. I said, “that’s you,

This is absolutely excruciating for me. My fiancé is a DACA recipient and we filed for his renewal three weeks ago (without using a lawyer since it’s not necessary). He’s okay with returning to the shadows (he spent so much of his life in them), but I’m more worried about deportation. He hasn’t been in a rush to get

Hmm...I’ll spare you that part of the conversation. Suffice it to say, everyone I spoke to (as well as myself) is in the agricultural industry and we are WELL aware what will happen to the crops without the immigrant labor force.

Bwahahaha I already told her that. The one who said that direct quote and everyone else.

She works in the agricultural industry (in a relatively “good” position) and cleans motels. In fact, every black woman Trump voter I spoke with works in agriculture alongside many (known) undocumented workers (mostly from Mexico and Central American countries).

I posted this as a reply to another person but this might answer your question:

There are so many Latino/as that I know who didn’t vote because either choice was “bad” 😒😒😒

All the trump voters I’ve talked to have listed ALL of the below as why they voted for him:
