“History is made”? Indeed!, since it’s the first time in since Benz’s three-wheeler that a design is improved by adding an effing license plate.

The interior I somehow find even worse. BMW never managed multicolor insides (the Z3M was already bad, if notably restrained compared to this), and didn’t this time either.

I still can’t get over how banal (verging on sad or ugly) that side view is, not least that C-pillar window.

I find “What would Trump do?” a useful guide to solving that question.

Fair points.

So, after myriad, boringly copycat full-width rear lights, the Wagoneer and e-150 promise us an equally overdone fad of full-width front lights?

The i3 is definitely something that should not be done, but I’d disagree on the i8.

But isn’t pörhn supposed to make people happy?

I wouldn’t go that far, but I do understand the feeling :-)

Maybe, but the Tiguan is already pretty small, even by Euro standards, so we already know this will be an SUV in name only. Something like the Polo, with a higher stance and boxy shapes.

I don’t think it was destined for rock climbing and forest exploration, so the bumps wouldn’t have caught on much. And it was designed to be hosed clean.

Looking at the earlier one especially, you can see that these were very much a response—perhaps even a knockoff?—to Citroën’s Mehari, down to the plastic body.

I see you now have titles on your posts. Does it help with the new, “improved” site design?

This has to be the shortest headache-inducing sentence ever.

How many VW SUVs do we need?

I’m far more annoyed by the lazy design of the front wheel arch where it meets the turn signal. Someone just stuck the shape of the light over the arch one. It’s lazy and crap.

I too have a slight doubt about the grille... but I love the design. The back in particular is a success.

Now that I see the side view, I understand why it wasn’t part of the teasers.

It will be available in a short wheelbase model and a long wheelbase model stretched by 2.95 inches.

The sadder thing isn’t that you possess such a narrow mind, but that 20 people felt the need to star it.
