I still think you’ve gotta cough up the receipts if you’re asking this much for an older 944, even an S2. Can it get this price? Sure. But you’ve gotta show that it’s been well-maintained, and that something like the timing belt isn’t a ticking time bomb of unknown provenance. I don’t trust shiny paint resprays on

I really dig what a 944 is/was. What it wasn’t... really though... was “meant to be a convertible”.  :)

No, my purpose is to have a car that interests me, and I’m more interested in unusual cars. “Being seen” doesn’t enter into it.

Try Boxters in the same price range, then get back to us. ;)

Damn, the voting is as even as its weight distribution!

Wrong car, but you.... holy shit, you get a pass.

But you go out and buy a $70,000 pick-up and no one bats an eye.

That’s a pretty unrealistic position to take. My car cost $25k. I don’t have that sitting around so I had to finance it, but that by no means implies I can’t afford it.

semi-annoying-but-livable stage

Aaaaand this is what happens when our society rewards moronic jagoffs for their asinine behavior by giving them more money than they know what to do with.

It’s definitely at the high end for an IS, but you should always buy the best you can afford, and this looks like it would outscore Ballaban’s Sportcross at Carlisle.

Unpopular opinion, I think the MKIII is better looking (and has aged better) than the MKIV.

David,

You bought a BMW with hidden problems? No you just bought a BMW dude lol.

Those of us who want a proper H-pattern manual gearbox and a clutch pedal want it for the feeling of connection to the machine and the driving experience. I for one don’t care if a dual-clutch automatic will shave a tenth or so off my 0-60 run and squeeze out another mpg on the EPA combined cycle. I wanna be involved

That’s neither here nor there. People who have that kind of money to burn on a toy are a minority, period. Not just among Jalopnik readers. For me, as for someone with a family, a rented apartment, a weekend home and a mortgage for an apartment bought on credit and rented out, hardly any car on NPOCP qualifies as a

He nailed the part of McLovin so utterly and completely that he’ll be typecastas McLovin for the rest of his life.

Whether or not the rest of the movie is any good is debatable...” um, what? The entire movie is a goddamn modern classic, this whole “hating things people love for no good reason” thing is getting fucking exhausting.
