Turns out, even highly-skilled technical people, the ones who always thought they were immune to any kind of disruption so often experienced by “unskilled” workers, found out the hard way not too long ago that they were not, indeed, irreplaceable. Just as a previous generation of tech workers discovered in previous

I worked 16 hour days grinding through to meet deadlines in my 20's. I don’t care if you’re launching space rockets or coding for some corporation, money doesn’t make it worth it. We need jobs we can work until retirement without being stressed out all the time. Race horses don’t live long and they’re rarely ever

I don’t need color for my business (writing), so I use a laser printer without any of those issues.

Ink, definitely. Laser is a touch more expensive.

Don’t feel bad, the people selling NFTs and running blockchains don’t really comprehend it either.

And literally selling nothing for real money.

I love how they say it will enhance the game experience when you know outside of the money laundering scams the only other thing they want this for is more intrusive anti-piracy measures

They’re innovating new and complex ways in tricking young minds into spending craplods of money (that is a technical term) on superfluous content.

I choose to use the Switch partly because of its low energy consumption. Just as I choose to not use blockchain for the same reason.

Personally, I game mostly on a Nintendo Switch. It uses around 18 Watts during gameplay. So to consume 1kWh, I would need to play for 55.6 hours.

Right but see this is better because the money will be going straight to these captains of industry instead of the people actually making or publishing the game. It’s not a grift as long as it works for me!

Give me a scenario where a blockchain in a video game would innovate... you know... anything. And I’ll stop being close-minded.

Damn you’re right!

Environmentally friendly scams are still scams. Innovation in scamming is not something anyone should be open to.

But they revolutionized art based money laundering by removing the need for those pesky artists, art galleries, and galas! The future is now!

Games that utilize blockchain technology and web3 token-based technologies like DAOs and NFTs can positively enhance the user experience of games, and create new economic opportunities for users and creators. Tokens, in particular, open up vast possibilities for users to interact, collaborate, and create tangible

That was my question, how?

I love that every time blockchain enthusiasts are criticized, they declare that it is all due to them being a “threat to the status quo”, and “closed platforms” with “walled gardens” see them as a threat to the established order.

Blockchain games are pioneering a number of new concepts that will invigorate the gaming industry for players and publishers alike”
