The $1.3 Trillion spent on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars over a 10 year period wouldn't even cover 2011's budget deficit. Overspending is a problem across the board, and even completely eliminating the military wouldn't fix it.

Tell me that's not a water pipe.
I wonder if, in this case, people simply felt unequipped to help. Feeling like your action would do more harm than good can also spur a bystander effect.
NSFW means "Not Safe For Work". It doesn't mean HEY GUYS LOOK OVER HERE AT THIS HOT STUFF. It doesn't mean boobies, gore, sex, or anything else. It's a way to protect your fellow folks from getting fired because the wrong thing popped up on their screen. Just because your boss wouldn't care doesn't mean mine might…
Somebody's competing app didn't get featured... :)
It's called the bystander effect, and it's actually quite common.
I suppose we should both qualify our statements by saying that they're from our own perspective. I use Amazon Prime streaming regularly, but mainly for Star Trek stuff.
Prime has a lot of value beyond expedited shipping.
There's a lot more to Prime than expedited shipping. If you don't like it, don't take the MP3 offer.
You spelled #theft wrong.
I disagree on the emoticons...use them liberally. IMs are inherently void of any contextual cues, and emoticons, used correctly, can fill in to avoid misunderstandings and improve communication.
I think what you're talking about is actually the "Beats By Dre" button. Your guess is as good as mine on what that does...
A sweater makes a pretty poor case for everyday use.
The article says it works for any song it can recognize, legit or otherwise.
A convicted rapist mocks a man who has been accused of (unsubstantiated) sex abuse. Hmm.
No problems here. N = 1 and all that.
I was just joking around...it's a great photo.
That's the problem with snarky headlines - people tend to enter the article with some preconceived notion of what the body text will say, or just skip straight to the comments and post before reading.
It was clearly just a demo. Did you see the flashes from other people's cameras?
As I posted above, Apple (and the carriers) aren't satisfied with waiting two years for an upgrade. They're doing everything they can to encourage earlier upgrades to sell more stuff. Why be satisfied with the two year cycle if you can also entice some 1-year old contracts to renew and buy new hardware?
