@midnightz: Okay, here's an article from 2009.

@csismything: The constitution doesn't give rights, it codifies protection of pre-existing natural rights against the government.

@Ninety-9: Maybe they're afraid that attacks on stadiums will knock the professional sports leagues out of business, leading Ray Lewis, Albert Pujols, and LeBron James to create crack mercenary teams that will track down and destroy bin Laden.

@CrispyAardvark: Despite having the strictest gun laws in the first world, the UK's violent crime and gun crime rates continue to rise. Yet you still think "strict" gun laws are the answer? Listen, if an island police state can't keep guns out, what makes you believe that type of regulation is effective at all,

@CrispyAardvark: You may want to check the links I just posted. Gun crime (and all violent crime) went up in the UK after their handgun ban, and it has continued to fall in the USA.

@Dodge2002: You mean you're proud of the gun ban, which has actually INCREASED gun crime in the UK?

@ryusen: It would take a hard strike on the primer, but yes, it could theoretically be detonated with a nail or something else pointed and hard.

@InfectedIntent: Don't make huge generalizations like this. Each state's laws vary greatly.

@m1ndtr1p: You can definitely hunt with handguns.

@notverycreative: You're spreading a whole lot of misinformation in this thread. There are not heavy restrictions on caliber, magazine size, muzzle energy, and type of ammo in most states.

@BeauTimuS: Semi-automatic. It's an important distinction.

@Canoehead: The point of such attacks is to kill people. People standing in a line can be blown up.

@Ninety-9: It's the most cursory check ever. You could sneak almost anything into a stadium with a little preparation.

Hikok45 has some other great videos if you like guns. He's a fantastic shooter.

@jkellmd: At this point, the greatest threat is from a bomb assembled onboard the plane from items carried on one's body and in one's carry-on. The underwear bomber comes to mind.

@SexyPants: It's because Islamic fundamentalists don't drink alcohol...your brewskis were the international sign that "it's all good here, move along."

@Ninety-9: I've personally had the same thought. I wonder why nobody's hit the soft target of airport security lines yet...or stadiums for that matter.

@Carrick1973: Until nuclear weapons were deployed to end World War II, the size, scope, and body count of armed conflicts was rising to insane proportions. Since nuclear deterrants hit the scene, fighting has been limited to small regional wars, with significantly lower body counts and destruction.

The people in this comments section who are pushing paper as a solution to problems with voting apparently weren't alive during the Florida recount.
