I wish. TWC won't let me use my own modem. I own two, somehow, and I've tried on three separate occasions in two different apartments. They either cite some policy that I wouldn't know, or play dumb. Endlessly frustrating.

Does anyone know of a way to block text messages on Android? There’s a number for a club in DC that texts me every couple weeks telling me about ~*DJ Chik*~ or something, and I’d love for those to stop coming.

This sounds excellent. I often look forward to my time doing chores since that’s when I get to listen to podcasts and Youtube videos, but I’ve been meaning to practice more intentional mindfulness lately.

Anyone interested by this video would probably find this one as fascinating as I do:

Even from a cold, calculating, business standpoint, the smart thing to do from the publishers' side of things would be to tap that untapped female market, and make gaming a hobby that's friendly to all. Similarly, you'd expect that people passionate about video games would want to create an inclusive environment that

Location scouting!

Facebook keeps trying to be every app that it's not, whether through acquisition attempts (Instagram, Snapchat) or by developing something in-house (Paper, Messenger). They're really suffering for it. I wish they'd concentrate on what they are instead of what they're not.

This map looks a lot like when I was testing out a Nexus 7 at home but carrying around my Android phone everywhere I went! I saw a map that looked a lot like this and was very confused by the starburst pattern until I turned off location tracking on the Nexus 7.

What I'm taking away here is, "Engage with someone about their work, don't just make a qualitative judgment and be done with them." I feel like these tips are just as helpful when communicating with non-children, too!

So glad I came back to check on this article! I just saw the important update now and re-sent my application; I hope I'm not too late!

Very cool stuff, but is it terrible that my first thought was, "How would a body actually decompose in a vacuum"?

I do grind and clench my teeth, maybe one or two nights a week. It's not so great, but I think unrelated to the other issue — I broke them another time flying over the handlebars of my bike, and another time on a multigrain bagel that had it out for me. :/

I chipped my front teeth over ten years ago, and they've re-chipped four or five times since then. I have veneers now, but I fear that this is not sustainable, and I'll keep chipping my teeth every couple years until I fork over tens of thousands of dollars for posts.

Last week, I tried telling Google Now to remind me to do something in 50 years, and it looped all the way back to Unix Time, I think.

This looks very cool! I used to have a somewhat similar setup on my iMac with Applescripts, but when I got married, my wife found it too creepy to live with.

Yes! My wife and I have been listening to Jazz Essentials on Pandora, which is usually great, but when a song with English vocals comes on, it kills my focus. This, however, is perfect.

Thank you! I'm a bit shy sharing my zip code, but that 11.1 cent per kWh figure is exactly what I was looking for.

How come when I check my zip code on chooseenergy.com, the most prevalent energy provider — ConEdison — doesn't show up, if for no other reason than a point of comparison? I kind of have no reference point.

Beautiful! I was unhappy when Apple made their Network Diagnostics tool more difficult to access, but this looks more verbose, and I use Chrome over Safari anyway. It's about time!
