On cookbooks and being a novice - if you’re going to buy one buy America’s Test Kitchen. Not only does it have great recipes it also is quite like a textbook giving you some basic kitchen knowledge.

I mean if it will actually teach you I would probably buy this as I want to build a rig but I’m scared to try.
