Agreed. The 305 only looks bad when compared to the 350. The 305 was a bit weak and not a good option considering the other wonderful V8s from GM you could build, but it's interesting that it would be the "number one worst performance engine in history".

Perhaps you are just the right person to ask... So the new 5.0 is making 412 to 444hp n/a in the Mustang, but the supercharged FPV has 422 to 450hp. Is that only because of the strict emissions standards, or is there something else going on there?
