It seems to be a particularly effective strategy with Cadillacs. First gen CTS's, even the V's, got cheaper faster than almost anything I can think of. On the other side, though, are the G8 GT and GXPs that are often priced only slightly below what they were sold for new.

Gotta agree with the others, after doing 120 miles a day to LA, OC, and SD over the past 10 years, the Southern California I live in is filled with oblivious status seekers enamored with the "ultimate driving machine".
It's way easier to be an asshat to others with a LSx. Faster, cheaper, more reliable.
I'd take the SRT4 or the STI / WRX for sure.
