How desperate is the cash situation if TSLA needs to announce its lifted Model 3 variation a year and a half ahead of time for deposits?

As I commented on in another thread, that was an amateurish presentation and unveil.
So they were able to take a care with bad proportions and make them 10% worse?
Looks more like a tall 4/5 door liftback.

LOL @ ATTACK TIME!!!
My wife used to work for a very prestigious medical research institute and got a masters in bioengineering from Berkeley, graduated in 2015. When she was finishing up and re-entering the job market she got so many calls from Theranos trying to convince her to come work for them. So glad she didn’t and kept a level…
For YEARS I have aspired to own a Tesla, as it is an aspirational car (for me, a middle aged man with two children less than five years away from college any car over $50K is an aspirational car) and I have been intrigued by the Tesla roof ever since it was announced- but over the course of the last few years that…
To your first point, I’ve actually heard rumblings that customer cars have been used for test drives while in for service.
Neither.
It very much sums up the approach to hardware in the region.
convince people to work against their own best interests - works for capitalists, communists and fascists everywhere!
You nailed this quote as it encapsulates the problem with operating a car company like a Silicon Valley software company. I just finished the book about Theranos- the blood testing company that was founded, became a company with a book value of $50B, and never actually had a functioning product, and now the founder…
I remember writing about their plan to have an online buying process a few months back, and called bullshit when I read that they were shooting for 5 minutes time from picking out the car to signing the paperwork.
“You sell Sixteen Xs and what do you get
“For months, they had been directed to have customers buy cars themselves through the Tesla website, even if they’re sitting right next to them in the store.”
“He’s like, ‘it’s bad for me but it’s good for the company, it’s good for the mission.’ Dude, no! Like, it’s your job, you idiot.”
This seems self-defeating. They’re going to be terminating a lot of these folks anyways. Why try to lock them down in the meantime?
I’m just here to watch the fanboys burn.
What a harebrained idea this was. You’re all fired, just kidding, you’re working, but without commission. Oh, and we need to keep those sales numbers high, which you’ll do because you’ll make more money...... for everyone but you.
This kind of sums up silicon valley.
