And now we have Musk personally confronting Twitter bears and calling their bosses after they have been “doxxed” by Tesla’s fanboys. RIP Montana Skeptic.

Lots of Europeans seem to hate Renault - I think they are pretty quirky & would make for interesting alternatives in North America with their lineup, especially their hot hatches like the Clio & Megane RS.
By the time the $35k Model 3 arrives, pig would have evolved with wings. I bet that Tesla would be finished, at least as a car manufacturer, by 2019. Maybe we’ll see Bolt or Leaf competitors with “powertrain from Tesla” in 2020 or so.
Took me a second to get it - I would admit even if it was an expensive option it would be extremely neat.
Tesla just announced that anyone can now order a Model 3 (the ones costing $50k+, not the mythical $35k one) even if they didn’t line up for a reservation since 2016. Buyers who are now waiting with a deposit for 2+ years are now being cut in line for those who put money down on one today.
“But...but I thought people brought Tesla because Superchargers!!!11" /s
I remember hearing someone saying the Q50 almost resembles an Altima. I guess this lady took that joke and ran with it, albeit with a different Nissan & Infiniti.

From what I know Porsche is using the SAE Combo CCS plug - that means while only Porsche can currently use 800V at 320kW charge rates, if they open up to all other manufacturers (everyone except Tesla that is) Porsche wins big in my books.
While I detest Elon Musk and Tesla to the core, I’m not fully convinced Martin Tripp is 100% forthcoming in his allegations. Still I would love to see how it pans out - it would be brilliant to shed some light on the veiled numbers & operations of Tesla.
Anyone who puts down money now is really only giving Tesla a interest-free loan that is most likely unsecured should they go belly up before they get their car. There are loads better choices that are coming down the pipework next year that would probably still beat Tesla in delivering a car to your garage and still…
Back in 2014, GM had to finance $14 billion to build 5 new factories in China with their partner Shanghai motor corporation (SAIC) putting in their own $14 billion (total of $28 billion). That comes to $5.6 billion per factory that only assembles cars. No batteries, just cars.
Do they need to? Chinese car firms are practically bypassing gas only vehicles for EV & hybrids (referred to as 新能源汽车 or “new energy vehicle”). Every single domestic brand in China has their own lineup of EV that can do 100~200mi range comfortably & China’s own GBT 20234 DC fast charging network even makes Norway look…
Intriguing, but Honda has been doing something similar a long time for its cars without blind-spot detection on the opposite side of the driver. Audi just added a screen & removed the actual mirror.
I think neither - Tesla powertrains are literally made of paper. In fact, a Model S & X P100D despite their insane acceleration times cannot sustain 200km/h for more than 10~15 minutes before the entire drivetrain overheats, forcing the car into a reduced power “limp mode”.
Putting a drift mode is beyond easy - just shut the front-axle motor off.
Amen to this. I love Tesla’s mission, but their method of execution and direction taken by Elon Musk is downright loathsome. I hope that the Tesla we know right now collapses onto itself and another Tesla, either owned now by GM/SAIC or perhaps Google/Tencent would make ACTUAL affordable EV that does not have silly…
I give props for Volvo’s revival and to create the Polestar brand to rival the likes of AMG & M, but at $155k a pop from an unknown manufacturer with looks that seem like a 2dr Mustang-meets-S60 styling seems...ambitious. Not exactly sure what kind of clientele Volvo is going for here, but good luck.
At this rate, I would not at all be surprised if Musk was the ONLY top level executive at Tesla within 2019.
Neutral: they will celebrate and make it as loud as possible. Drowns out the criticisms and the “shorts” as they call them (or us).
