When a CEO spends more time bickering with ex-employees in a pissing contest than actually figuring how to dig his multi-million dollar company from the mountain of debt about to cave in is telling where his priorities are.

As a resident Canadian who loves how the new S60 R-design looks, it would be absolutely painful to have the price be astronomically higher than what it is in the States because Trump’s hatred of Canada.
The whole thing sounds suspicious. If sabotage was involved, where are the law enforcement in all of this? Why is it not a criminal case but a civil case?
Geely ownership has revitalized Volvo in a manner I never thought possible. When Saab collapsed during the 2009 credit crunch I thought I would never see a sporty Swedish sedan again. I’m really glad Volvo has proven me wrong.
I thought the V60 would be the nicer looking car since I dig the V90 much more than I did the odd-looking rear end of the S90. I thought wrong.
This is a question that have been sitting on the back of my mind for awhile. This is why I also love Jalopnik.
I still don’t see the optional T6 or T8 Twin Engine version. After living with the Outlander PHEV for awhile, I kind of liked having the ability to do short stints & commuting to work only in EV mode.
The amount of noise Tesla has been generating these last few weeks are almost starting to hurt my head. You think news like this in a healthy company like GM or Ford they would probably treat it internally & make it as subtle as humanly possible. Oh but this is Tesla - Elon is probably the last person on the planet…
That’s a pretty silly argument - I can easily state some startup with 3 staff members with some crazy off the shelf idea has great “growth potential”. “Growth potential” is a moot argument if the facts & numbers don’t back it up.
Can I inquire as how this company is valued more than GM or Ford? I mean heck, even specialty car maker Morgan who builds cars from wood & glue don’t build their cars in a tent exposed to the elements.
Remember when Audi was the only manufacturer from 2003~2006 and they won CONSISTENTLY? Nobody accused them of a hollow victory.
It is, hence why some govt. body REALLY needs to smack Tesla & Autopilot specifically with a ban hammer in its current state.
This. The reason Autopilot keeps killing people is the interaction between the car & driver is terrible - the car does not communicate/alert enough to the driver to take control in case of an emergency, and more often than not it happens too quickly to react.
At this point, the real question that nobody has answered is how is Tesla going to stay solvent with an imminent ~$6billion of debt about to be matured before 2019 comes over. Even if Tesla can move 10,000 units of Model 3 by now, it still needs some considerable margins to dig itself out of this hole which they…
Buick might have just unseated the Acura TLX even with SH-AWD with this Regal GS. I’m tempted to give this a test drive at some point.
Volvo has gone on record to introduce a less expensive T6 Twin Engine configuration (using the “T5" 240hp turbocharged 2.0L 4cyl matched with the “T8" 10.4 kWh battery & electric motors). Would that make it across the pond to North America? I’m genuinely interested in that model.
Cellphones are national security, cars are national security...I won’t be at all surprised to hear next week that Mexican produce would be under scrutiny because of “national security”.
Even if they do get to 5,000 units a week (and even if the cars all leave the factory perfectly, which the current ~3,000 a week all have loads of issues as CR and Edmunds can attest to), it doesn’t change the fact that for the Model 3 to become remotely profitable is either to move 10,000+ a week or sell high-end…
Yes I did - rough shifting 7G-DCT on the B250 about 7 months ago warranted a service visit outside of scheduled maintenance. Cleared the codes & the shift algorithm. No charge to fix - problem never came back.
While that is great news, this is not the first time “Elon cried wolf”. I stay on the side of skepticism until proven otherwise.
