Because no other manufacturer misleads the public into believing it is on the cusp of Full Self Driving. Tesla are the only ones posting videos of “Enhanced Autopilot” on their website showing this while their drivers constantly Tweets & Youtube clips of them taking their hands off the wheel going “look ma no hands!”

Totally not a cult. No way, not possible. /s

Too bad this is mainly directed towards the Model 3. Have you sat in one, felt the materials or even seen how it looks inside? Yet I have been lambasted again and again for calling this out.

It is kind of sad as I’m a pretty passionate car guy who’s now into EV, but I dare you to find a single article about a Bolt, Leaf, i3, e-Golf etc. that does not have that one fellow in the comments that makes an inevitable Tesla off-hand comparison “no Supercharger”, “OTA updates!” and “Other car makers don’t care or

Subaru makes AWD cars, Porsche puts their engines in the back, Tesla misses deadlines. What else is new?

I must not be the only one who winced at Elon’s “April fools” joke. Unlike most car companies jokes (e.g. Porsche’s electric tractor or Kia’s floating Soul etc.) are harmlessly humorous, but to joke Tesla is going bankrupt while motivating employees to “push harder or we’ll die!” in his emails...that is just in bad

Then explain this. This is report from IIHS, a non-profit advocate agency.

I agree. Too bad Tesla’s marketing team & name implies everything BUT an adaptive cruise control. It is almost deceitful advertising.

I have been saying this for years once I realized how Autopilot was in a nut-shell: radar-adaptive cruise control with lane departure, active lane keeping & emergency auto-braking wrapped in a fancy name. The term used here describing an aircraft system of the same name is misleading on purpose, and in its

Autopilot is already involved with a lot of high profile accidents already, 2 of them confirmed fatalities. Tesla can hide behind legalese & put the blame on the now deceased driver (RIP) for “not adhering to warnings”, but the marketing material & general consensus Autopilot gives has always been “self driving”. For the longest of time I have keep skeptical of Tesla. Their earnings, investments, Supercharger construction, service centers and above it all, praises to their cars don’t add up.

I’m just slightly curious as to why people keep harping to manufacturers to be “like Tesla”. Unless I’m out of the loop that losing billions each year is a new way of running a business, I’m not sure what they do is revolutionary at that company.

Intriguing tech - however with the Mazda Skyactiv-X now coming into play, I wonder who has the more efficient ICE design philosophy.

As much as I enjoy free charging, I’m not stupid enough to realize that it would last. Seems like many Tesla owners & fans unfortunately don’t think similarly.

Tesla as of today is still cash burning furiously, the Model 3 highly automated assembly line is still mostly manual labor, worker wages are below average, Model 3 are leaving the factory (and making it past QC) with numerous defects, service centers are loaded to the brim, have a passive aggressive relation to

Immature Full Self Driving tech, in-attentive driver & Jaywalking across the road with a bike in the dark.

A DOHC V8 manufactured by GM who knew. Since the days of the Northstar I don’t recall any of its kind.

Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone & etc. probably spent more money in R&D to make sure their tires do as they are designed to do from the factory even if they are slightly worn. Why would anyone let some knuckle-head think they can improve on that by cutting strips randomly off is...amusing.

Something never change. Toyota makes rolling appliances, BMW don’t have turn signals, Tesla loses money and Mustangs like hitting things.

I feel the wheelbase needs to be longer to serve as a limo. Look at the Volvo S90 for an example. Another problem is the price - yes Lincoln would likely have quite a bit on the hood, but Lincoln doesn’t have the prestige that commands premium pricing on par with the Europeans.
