That looks awesome. Imagine that with a 3.6L V6 of the GS variant.

These newer Opel Insignia...err, Buick Regals are really well proportioned & great looking. I can do without the body cladding which feels like an afterthought, but if that is what it takes to get Americans fooled into thinking it is an SUV/CUV and actually sell it as a “not wagon”, by all means.
I didn’t know Callum wanted to design for Jaguar since 68. This is a real dream come true - no wonder his passion & flair for the current crop of Jaguars are all winners.
I think it looks good, and I have generally been anti-SUV. Honestly if it does start ~$75k, the only real reason you buy a Tesla is because of their Supercharger network, but otherwise you have to be daft to consider a Model X otherwise.
Despite GM & Mopar fans telling me constantly that their OHV is superior to DOHC, I still can’t find an answer why GM doesn’t make a L4 OHV or Chrysler a V6 OHV engine in place of their DOHC units.
We all know Autopilot is a load of bull, but you do feel sorry for his kid who lost his life because of his firm belief in Tesla, not unlike many commentators here who obviously feels the same & blaming him instead of the car for the accident.
Porsche already toyed with the idea of a 911 Hybrid awhile back in GT3 racing with a flywheel accumulator. What the technology learned from the 919 Hybrid & 918 Spyder I think a 911 Hybrid or even PHEV is highly likely. As of now I cannot see a 911 BEV however as that might be a step too far in alienating…
I actually like the look of the V60 over the V90. The latter is likely more comfortable thanks to a longer wheelbase & bigger trunk, but the V60 has a more upright rear hatch & looks better proportioned. It is also likely lighter, and the availability of Twin Engine PHEV trim at T6 trim instead of the expensive T8 are…
The V60 T6 Twin Engine PHEV sounds promising. The T8 is the stormer but likely a bit too rich for my taste, but having a taste of PHEV ownership from the Mitsubishi Outlander I enjoy the electric driving ability with the added benefit of not being locked down to the electric grid & sparse charging network.
All the geniuses at Silicon Valley and nobody ever questioned whether having everything in a car be controlled by a centralized computer control unit is a bad idea.
I often said the BMW i3 is one of the best cars to be stuck in traffic with. Serenely quiet, good low-end torque, intriguing interior design, high quality materials in & out and one pedal driving.
I said it once, I’ll say it again. Tesla does technology for technology sake. The Model X’s gimmicky doors was the telltale sign. Add to that questionable reliability & bad Human-computer interface, this is a disaster waiting to happen.
Well, if you don’t know that the Outlander PHEV is such a big seller that it accounts for 50% plug-ins in the UK, it is actually a brilliant PHEV AWD SUV for the money. Brought one of the first batches in Canada and the entire family seems to like it.
As a Chinese idiom stated, “paper cannot cover fire”. In that same regard, either Tesla can actually start delivering on its promises (which it hasn’t) or seeing Model 3 go up in flames on the news one night, which along with it would burn up any chance of mass-market success & the company altogether.
And on the 23rd (or a week after this video) someone in CA in their “autpilot” Model S ends up smashed in the back of a stationary, big & red firetruck.
This:
Honestly it takes a lot to beat down the Germans at their own game. Cadillac of course can pull a Lexus in the 90s, but GM would likely never do that (they aren’t Toyota as we all know). The products are equally good, but the pricing is too on-par or not low enough to entice buyers to bite.
I for one would be interested to see how Chinese cars do in North America. It is easy to stereotype Chinese products as garbage, but given how big the Chinese automotive market is, even the Chinese themselves aren’t stupid enough in their home market to buy & promote rubbish. Look back in North America we have brands…
Running a business & economics must be a foreign thing for you. If buyers/demand are there, why drop the price? Did you HONESTLY expect cost savings from factory relocation to actually be passed onto the consumer?
Put this comment on any other website and you get beaten & blocked for being a Tesla hater. However I wholeheartedly agree with this comment. Autopilot just sounds misleading.
