“Wouldn’t it be great if Americans took hillclimb as seriously as the Europeans do?”

Most of those billions are imaginary.  The stock they own is “worth” billions, and that is the fault of the investors.

Bingo.

It doesn’t current well.

$55k is not a ton less than the $59k an M2 competition costs either. That car makes more power than the Supra, is more practical and can be had with a stick.

I’m not saying buy a Supra but I wouldn’t be seen in a C8 unless you put a gun to my head. It’s one ugly motherfucker.

Did this car prove it, or did this car prove that people don’t want the base engine with the manual transmission and no options other than what comes in the package that gives you the manual?

The Bronco Sport is unrelated to the Bronco other than its name. It’s a butched-up Escape.

And both are losing them every day. The penalty box seems to be where the CVT is being relegated to. Meanwhile “sports cars”, like the Supra and the C8 Corvette are being offered only with the automatic because... 0-60 time bragging rights for the dick measuring contests?

It’s strange how they constantly fuck this one crucial aspect up every damn time. If it’s not forcing you to take the lesser engine* than you’re locked out of the rest of the good option packages. I was afraid for the Bronco when I heard you can only get the turbo-four with three pedals, and then out right pissed

Its weird that they bothered even making them with manuals with only the smaller engine. They should've known only enthusiast will buy manuals and they would've wanted the bigger engine. It's like they did this on purpose to show everyone that nobody buys manuals so they can kill it from the line up.

Kinda sad that all Nissan is able to do is reuse their same platform from 2001...

Seeing the Z and the Supra side by side really makes it obvious that the Supra is a bit of an overwrought mess. The Z is refreshingly simple and straightforward. I don’t care if it is a heavily reworked 370z. I like it.

@ Andrew P. Collins, you really should promote this photoshop to a front page article tomorrow; “Nissan’s global design team taken behind woodshed and humiliated with 10 min photoshop by Jalopnik user crankaholic

Agree with everything you’ve said here on the 350/370. I’m not sure what is wrong with using an older, simpler platform and dropping in more power. Most modern cars just aren’t very exciting, they may be fast but they’re over complicated and too big. More true to the sports car ethos cars like BRZ and Miata are just

I don’t see too much wrong with it taking the general shape of the 370Z, the entire Z-lineup has progressed to this shape, so it basically follows the shape of every Z car. Supposedly, this is on a newer platform shared with the Q60-coupe, so it’s not going to be the aging 370Z platform, which means it will probably

Funnily enough, I always point to differing wheelbases as a reason why the 370z was more than a simple refresh of the 350z.

My concern is they’re going to pull a Supra and price this way too high, then release a turbo 4 cylinder later for $5k less. The Mustang GT starts around $35k, so I can that being a target price since performance would be comparable. So say a I4 starting at $29,900 and a V6 around $35,000, that would be reasonable

Beautiful--except for that grille. Woof. That better all be needed for air flow, reminds me of the gritting teeth emoji.
