Not only undeniably true but also entirely obvious.

As I was writing my last comment, The Simpsons analogy dawned on me and now that you’ve outright said it I’ll concede on those grounds. The Simpsons are hardly tarnished by the 20-ish seasons of mediocrity because of the 4-6 years-worth of greatness sprinkled in their first 10 years on the air.
