It’s not that easy anymore. Yes, the vehicles do have more ground clearance. But with the electronic traction control now a days, the AWD advantage has disappeared in many situations.

I had a car once with seats that felt great for up to four hours, but anything after that was just about crippling. It’s not something I would have figured out on the test drive.

Some stuff doesn’t bug you much right up front. I think most everyone has been there at one time or another, you think “It’s not that bad, I’ll get used to it” but over time the annoyance becomes hatred.

I was always under the impression that you simply couldn’t open those passenger / emergency exist doors while the plane was in flight. Maybe the plastic cover of the door moved a couple inches, but I doubt the door itself did.
